The PGA Tour returns this week with the focus on the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Always one of the highlights in the golfing calendar, this year’s event is no different. A limited number of spectators will also be in attendance this week, which is great to hear.
A course which is renown for its distance in length, many will look towards the big hitters for this weeks event. Taking place in Bay Hill, in Orlando Florida, the best golfers from around the word will convene to battle it out once again for another monster purse.
PPTV’s Graham Byrne and Justin Kenny go through Justin’s best bets for the tournament, for which we’re paying eight places.

Rory McIlroy
I’m going to stick with previous winner of this tournament Rory McIlroy to get back to winning ways this week. A previous winner, as mentioned when shooting 18 under-par 3 years ago, he is coming back into form. He likes courses in the Florida region to boot. He seems to be putting in the hours recently to get his game back to where he wants it to be.
He changed his putter last week, which was to his advantage also, as it showed on the greens. When he won this tournament three years ago, he was ranked first in distance off the tee, which will be a big advantage if clocking those long yards up again here.
With great weather in prospect in the Sunshine State this week, it’s only a matter of time before he grab’s a win I feel.

Hideki Matsuyama
It’s worth noting that the last five winners of this tournament have come from outside the United States. After finishing tied for 15th last week, Hideki Matsuyama is also a player heading in the right direction of late.
Still in the top 25 players in the world, he’s done well to hold his spot among the best in the world. Although he is without a win since 2017, he does seem to win on more challenging courses when he does get the job done. A player who consistently performs well in the majors each year, he changed his swing recently. That slight pause at the top of his swing, he has since been discarded, so it was always going to take time to get used to such a big change.
That said, he is a great iron player. While his putting has come under the microscope before, those stats seem to have improved recently as well. At a much bigger price, he’s well worth playing each-way here, considering the extra places on offer with Paddy.
