Golf tips: Our 30/1 Scottish Championship best bet at Fairmont St Andrews

The European Tour continues with the Scottish Championship this week.

The European Tour swings back into action with the inaugural Scottish Championship at Fairmont St Andrews this week, and Paddy Power have teamed up with expert Ben Coley to bring you our top tips.

Despite St Andrews boasting the title of the world’s oldest golf destination, the Fairmont course located just east of the town centre is hosting a European Tour event for the first time.

Perched on Fife’s rugged North Sea coastline, players must navigate the challenging links-inspired layout and battle the unpredictable elements in order to taste success this week.

Matt Wallace, Lee Westwood, Aaron Rai and Eddie Pepperell currently lead our outright betting market, but Coley believes there is value to be found further down the field.

It’s off to Scotland on the European Tour this week for the Scottish Championship and that could inspire Matthew Southgate to secure a first win on the circuit.

He’s played a heck of a lot of golf in Scotland, his dad is a member at Carnoustie and his best form on the European Tour came when second just up the road at the Old Course in the Dunhill Links.

He’s playing well – he had a top 10 two starts ago – and looks the best bet in the Scottish Championship.
