Watch: Tiger Woods produces mind-bending shot of the year contender

Tiger Woods in full flow is still one of the greatest sights to see in golf and he remained us all of that on Friday night…

Some of the biggest names in the sport of golf are battling it out at the WGC – Mexico Championship this weekend and it’s not surprising to see Tiger Woods stealing all the headlines.

After seemingly being finished because of a debilitating back injury for a number of years, Woods looked back to somewhere near his dominant best last season with impressive top 10 showings at The Open Championship and the USPGA Championship, as well as an emotional victory at the Tour Championship in September.

This week Woods is in the hunt for a 19th win at a World Golf Championship event and he roared back into contention on Friday evening with a five-under-par round of 66 at the Club de Golf Chapultepec. That moved him up from 25th in the leaderboard into a tie for eighth place, but it was his shot on the par-4 ninth hole that had everyone talking.

The fact that he was in a bunker wasn’t the biggest worry for Woods, it was the tree right in his line of sight to the green was the problem. When you are Tiger Woods though, you find a way around these kind of obstacles – and in this case, it was literally around.

Woods pulled out a cut shot for the ages as he incredibly faded the ball around the tree and if that wasn’t enough, just watch the spin take the ball towards the hole after it lands! Thankfully, you can see the shot for yourself thanks to the PGA Tour’s YouTube Channel below:
