‘Make a 3 here and walk off The Ridge satisfied’, that’s the course advice from the PGA site at Bellerive. Well, the other way of approaching the 237 yard par 3 16th hole is to simply sink your tee shot – makes things a lot easier.
And that’s the approach Matthew Wallace took. One solid strike, a couple of hops and a little roll in for an incredible hole in one. He wasn’t even put off by the commentator calling him ‘Mike Wallace’. Check it out:

The West Londoner was rightfully chuffed with himself and when he picked the ball from the hole, he gave it one kiss and threw it into the drunken elated crowd. Pretty cool in fairness. Although he did give the post two second look of ‘shit, I should’ve kept that ball!’.

Anyway, hats off Matt. One to cherish.
