Fore!! Paddy set to lose millions if Poulter claim’s glory at Augusta

If the Medinah putter goes missing, it wasn't me.......

After winning his first tournament in six years to qualify for the Masters, and his first ever PGA victory in America, punters have taken to their pockets on Ian Poulter donning the green jacket come Sunday.

We’ve priced Poults up at 50/1 and have taken thousands of bets on him winning his first major – to the small tune of, eh, three million pounds in losses – if he manages to pull it off. Surely not? Although that’s what I said when he was lining up the putt to bring the Houston to a play off.

He’s our most-backed golfer at Augusta by far, surpassing the popularity of Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Jordan Speith. Though the single largest Masters bet taken so far is a patriotic £15,000 win on Rory McIlroy, which could see one punter take home £180,000.

I’ll be turning the same colour as the Masters winner’s jacket if Poulter pulls it off at Augusta. If his Medinah putter goes missing Saturday night, say nothing, it wasn’t me! Come on Rory!!
