Providing a convincing excuse for not showing up at work isn’t an easy task, especially if you’re a little bit hungover and your boss knows you’re a massive football fan, so there’s real pressure involved in constructing a believable excuse and more importantly one which doesn’t evoke any further questions.
Maybe that’s why 11% of you stick to tried and tested methods such as having a headache or migraine, being in pain (7%) or the old faithful which requires no follow ups ‘I have diarrhoea’ (5%).
