Wexford to win
The start of the All Ireland schedule sees a host of sides looking to navigate their way through the preliminary provincial rounds and Carlow’s trip to Wexford catches the eye on the opening weekend. Hosts Wexford came up short in the promotion battle from the Allianz League Division 4 as Leitrim lost out to Laois in the final. Five wins from seven in league action shows strong form from The Model County, as they stormed to a 1-14 to 0-7 win in Carlow in March, and they will be confident of a Leinster quarter final spot on home soil.
Westmeath to win
Westmeath head into All Ireland action on the back of securing promotion to the Allianz League Division 2 after the three-point Division Three final win over Down. Unbeaten in eight league games is an impressive start to 2024 for Dessie Dolan’s team and they face a Wicklow side who secured just one league win and were beaten by six points in their clash with Westmeath in February.
Waterford to score first goal vs Tipperary
Tipperary head to Waterford in the All Ireland Munster quarter finals with both sides enduring a poor showing in the 2024 Allianz Football League. Hosts Waterford failed to win a single game and Tipperary secured just one victory. The away side are heavy favourites to win, but their struggles in front of goal could make things tricky, with just two scored in seven compared to Waterford’s three.
Cork to score first goal vs Limerick
Limerick opened their Allianz National League campaign with two goals in a 2-07 to 2-14 loss to Antrim. However, they only managed one more goal in the following six matches and were relegated to Division 4. Cork are red hot favourites to power into the Munster semi finals, against Kerry, after scoring eight goals in seven league outings.
