Limerick (-8)

I think this could be a difficult day for Tipperary. The handicap is eight points and I think Limerick will cover that. We saw how impressive they were against Cork so, for me, eight points isn’t an awful lot.

Limerick will probably hit around the 30-point mark and could even go beyond that and then you ask yourself ‘where are Tipperary’s scores going to come from?’

They’re relying on Jake Morris, Mark Kehoe, Noel McGrath and it’s very difficult to see where they’re going to put 2-18, 2-19 or 2-20 on the board.

So, it’s definitely Limerick for me. I think they’ll cover that eight point handicap and we could even be looking at nine to 12 points.

(-8)

First goalscorer: Aaron Gillane

This is Limerick v Tipperary and I don’t see any let up from John Kiley. The great teams don’t let up and this is a great team. If they smell any weakness from Tipperary at the weekend they’re going to catch them by the throat and squeeze them.

Scorers-wise, I don’t think you can look past Aaron Gillane. He’s on hurler of the year form at the moment. He got a goal against Cork and was man-of-the-match against Waterford so I can’t look beyond him for first goalscorer.
