NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
Saturday 7.30pm: Dublin v Mayo
What better game than Mayo coming to Croke Park to prove a lot of people wrong for Dublin? Mayo are one of those teams that just never go away so it has the makings of an unbelievable game.
Dublin To Win by 1-3 points
It’s a tough game to call and there’s never much between them. Oisin Mullin is back which is a huge plus for Mayo but I just think this Dublin team will get over the line on Saturday night. I can see a Dublin win by two points.
Ryan O’Donoghue First Goalscorer
With the teams now not being announced until Saturday this makes our job a lot harder! I just think, for Mayo, I’m going to go with Ryan O’Donoghue to Score First. I just think he has a goal in him.
Sunday 1.45pm: Kerry v Donegal
I think it has to be Kerry. I just think Kerry are a step ahead of Donegal at the moment. Every home game you play is a huge game. They’re the games where you need to win your two points.
Kerry (-4)
I think Kerry are in a rich vein of form at the moment and the biggest thing pushing them is competition for places. They want to win every game and I think that’s going to ring true with the players showing that once they get the jersey they want to keep it.
I think Kerry will cover the four-point handicap. They’re at home in Tralee and it’s a big, open pitch which will suit them. Donegal will test them, I know that myself over the years! There’s a few cards brandished and a lot of stuff going on off the ball. It’s going to be one of those games but it’s a brilliant week of football.
Paul Geaney First Goalscorer
It might be a game to try out some new lads and if you’re looking for a goal angle I think your main man might be Paul Geaney.
I’m always saying that teams one or two very good man makers and against Kerry you probably need three. I’m going to tip Paul Geaney for the First Goal scorer this weekend.
Saturday double – Dublin and Armagh to Win
With Dublin playing Mayo at home I fancy them. There’s a lot Dublin on that game for them given all that outside noise. You can’t ignore it and I think that trickles down to the players as well.
Armagh are at home as well, they’ll be looking at having three wins on the bounce against Monaghan and then they’re thinking about the league finals. So, I think Dublin and Armagh both to Win is a great bet as a double.
