With the 2019 All-Ireland Football final right on the horizon, we invited Kerry legend and PP News columnist Aidan O’Mahony in for a chinwag.
Being a winner of five Sam Maguire Cups and a veteran of nine All-Ireland finals, we thought who better to talk us through the best forwards of the last couple of decades than the legendary Kingdom defender.
O’Mahony is known as one of the tightest man-markers in the history of the game, and it’s fair to say he was never short of a trick or two to wind up the opposition’s star forward!
Raise a green flag on your GAA punts at paddypower.comIf you’ve read any of his columns for us this year, you’ll know he is also a student of the game as he begins looking towards a career in management. Thankfully, we found the Rathmore man in reflective mood for our chat and we asked him to name the toughest forwards he had faced over his glittering intercounty career.
Despite going toe-to-toe against the likes of Michael Murphy and Andy Moran during his time in the green and gold jersey, O’Mahony picked a few surprise names in his top four.
We won’t spoil the fun for you and you can check out Aidan’s picks for yourself below:
