Good To Grand: How you can turn a tenner into over £1,000 this weekend

Here's our picks to turn your £10 into a glorious grand this Saturday and Sunday...

Just like the Trump administration’s Russian links, Good to Grand isn’t going away and we’re back with another attempt at our plucky punt.

We’ve been ‘Putin’ in the groundwork for the past week and we believe we’ve finally found a path to a grand in the hand that’s great again.

Instead of the usual fab five-some of bets, we’re sticking our tenner on a fantastic four to bring in that £1,000 we want so dearly.

Here’s what we’re tipping…

Third in the Stewards Cup last season on good to firm ground, Raucous looks a player again in Saturday’s big sprint at Goodwood, that goes to post at 3.35pm. The stall-26 draw could have been kinder, but he comes here with similar preparation to last year and this proven soft-ground winner looks a knocking bit of value at 14/1.

Next, we move to the Colosseum-like surroundings of Croke Park as Dublin and Monaghan battle it out for a spot in the All-Ireland football semi-final. The Boys in Blue are massive favourites for victory, but those looking for value should get the alternate handicap of the Dubs to win (-6.0) as they have a huge average winning margin in Championship this season of over 17.33 points per game.

Wembley is our next port of call as Premier League champions Chelsea renew rivalries with Arsenal – who took The Blues’ scalp in last season’s FA Cup final – with the Community Shield on the line. Sparkling new attacking signings Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette should be on show, but we’re going with Chelsea’s watertight defence to cause The Gunners to misfire this time around.

Finally, Croker is calling again with Leinster kingpins Galway taking on All-Ireland holders Tipperary in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final. The Tribesmen could well be hurt by downing their weapons for five weeks and we’re predicting a battle hardened Tipp will claim a final spot in this one.
