Daniel Ricciardo’s digging out his cowboy boots and stetson hat as the Formula 1 roadshow heads Stateside for the first race of a triple header in the Americas.

The Circuit of the Americas once again plays host to the United States Grand Prix and Red Bull ace Max Verstappen is safe in the knowledge that he has already wrapped up the drivers’ title.

Verstappen has won the last two editions of the race but there is a difference this year as it’s another Sprint weekend. Yee-haw!

I’ve run the rule over Paddy Power’s odds for the US Grand Prix and picked out a few fancies. Let’s get to it!

Sprint Race – Lando Norris

It’s surely a matter of time, isn’t it? At some point, Lando Norris is going to take the chequered flag – and this weekend’s Sprint represents a decent opportunity.

That’s because team-mate Oscar Piastri’s victory in the Qatar Sprint showed McLaren have the pace to hold off Max Verstappen’s Red Bull over the shorter distance.

Norris has been knocking on the door in recent weeks with three podiums – plus third place in the Qatar Sprint – on the spin, while McLaren have scored the most points in that period.

The 23-year-old can put his previous experience at COTA to good use by making all in Saturday’s mini race.

#WhatOddsPaddy – Max Verstappen to Win the Race & Sergio Perez to Finish on the Podium

He has the championship in the bag but it’s impossible to envisage Max Verstappen taking his foot off the pedal.

The Dutchman has won the last two editions of the US Grand Prix and 14 of this season’s 17 races so far. Sure, it’s an obvious selection but he can take the top step on the podium once again.

Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez is having a difficult time as the battle to hold on to second place in the championship intensifies and speculation over his future rages.

While the Mexican has had three shocking Grands Prix in a row, he has a decent record at COTA making up five places to finish fourth in last year’s race and earning a podium place in 2021 – something he can repeat this weekend.

#WhatOddsPaddy – Mercedes to Have the Fastest Lap

Every point counts in Formula 1 and Mercedes are fighting on twin fronts as Lewis Hamilton chases down Perez for second place in the drivers’ championship and the team attempt to finish best of the rest behind Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.

The Silver Arrows have claimed the Fastest Lap on four occasions this season – the highest number after the Bulls’ 10 – and took the bonus point in the last two editions of the US Grand Prix.

Points Finish – Yuki Tsunoda

We’re going back through the history books for another value punt to round things off. Yuki Tsunoda has scored points on his two previous visits to COTA – converting 10th on the grid to two points in 2021 and battling his way through the field, with the aid of the Safety Car, to finish 10th last year.

The AlphaTauri driver has only scored three points this season, although his qualifying form has been encouraging since the summer break so he could earn a handy slot on the grid to sneak into the top 10 by the time the chequered flag is out on Sunday.
