After a three-week summer break, the Formula 1 road show roars back into town – well, Zandvoort to be accurate – for the Dutch Grand Prix.

Expect to see the Orange Army out in force to cheer on their hero, Max Verstappen, as the Red Bull superstar bids to pick up where he left off. He has won the last eight races and holds a 125-point lead over team-mate Sergio Perez in the standings so it’s just a matter of time until he seals a third championship.

Verstappen, 25, will want to put on a show for his fans and he is looking make it three in a row at Circuit Zandvoort since the track’s return to the calendar in 2021.

Red Bull have utterly dominated the 2023 season, winning every race, and panto villain Christian Horner will, no doubt, be desperate to see his team keep up their standards and create a bit of history by going unbeaten all year.

The battle behind the Bulls and Verstappen, in particular, is where the action is to be found and hopefully there’s plenty of that this weekend. I’ve gone through Paddy Power’s odds for the Dutch Grand Prix and picked out a couple of best bets. Let’s get to it!

Win/Fastest Qualifier/Fastest Lap – Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has converted pole position into race victory in the two renewals of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort since it returned to the calendar in 2021 – and he also picked up the point for the fastest lap on one of those occasions.

The Dutchman has won nine out of this season’s 11 races, claimed eight poles in the process and scored six fastest laps so at odds against it’s worth having a punt on him bagging the hat-trick in his home Grand Prix.

Podium Finish – Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc

Red Bull’s other driver, Sergio Perez, seemed a natural fit for the Dutch Grand Prix podium after rediscovering his mojo in the last two races before the summer break, but the Mexican has a poor record at Zandvoort so I’ve looked at a couple of alternative options to join Verstappen in the top three.

Lewis Hamilton scored three podiums in the last six races and finished fourth in two more so the Mercedes man is expected to be in the mix.

The seven-time world champion also has a decent record at Zandvoort, finishing a respectable fourth last season and second in 2021 when in the midst of his title battle with Verstappen.

Ferrari bounced back in Belgium as Charles Leclerc steered the SF-23 to third place for his third podium in 2023 – and I’m backing the Monegasque to take that form into part two of the campaign.

He was third to take the chequered flag in last year’s Dutch Grand Prix and finished fifth in 2021 when driving an inferior car to the last two models.

*A Podium Finish acca with these two bets pays at approximately 6/1 with Paddy Power. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.
