Short-priced punt: Croatia to Win
Morocco and Croatia get us underway on Wednesday in Group F and it’s a game the former will probably have to get something out of if they’re to make it to the knockouts. Croatia are a wily old side, though and they’ve got plenty of high-class players.
That’s an area you have to say Morocco are lacking and while Hakim Ziyech has quality it nothing like the class of Luka Modric and co. Opening games are always tight but we’re backing Croatia to have the nous and ability to kick off with a Win.

Value Play: Under 1.5 Goals
Following on from the theme of this most likely being a tight, cagey affair there might well be some value in backing Under 1.5 goals. These two are generally involved in quite high scoring matches with Under 1.5 only clicking once for Morocco in their six games this year.
It’s landed in one of Croatia’s three games this season but, crucially, that was last time out in their friendly with Saudi Arabia. I think the heat will also play a big part so expect a few cagey games played at a slow tempo.
Long Shot: Andrej Kramaric to Score First
If Croatia are to nick this one then Andrej Kramaric is perhaps the man most likely. He will be in high spirits after grabbing the only goal of the game in that friendly with Saudi Arabia and on Wednesday.
He’s not been in sensational goal-scoring form for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga with just three goals to his name but the international game is a completely different kettle of fish. With plenty of quality behind him supplying the ammunition your long shot is Andrej Kramaric to Score First.
