The biggest game of this weekend’s Premier League fixture list lands on Sunday as Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table, and they face a City side who had lost five in a row prior to throwing away a 3-0 lead in the Champions League in midweek, to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord.

What a game we should have in store on Sunday! We’ve not seen Man City this poor for way over a decade, Pep Guardiola has a real job on his hands – but he’s a top manager – arguably the greatest we’ve seen in the last 10-15 years in this country.

The crucial bit of news for Liverpool was Ibrahima Konate limping off in the Champions League against Real Madrid. people don’t always realise just how important he is for Liverpool, and that’s a concern.

If he doesn’t play, that’s a problem, and there is also a doubt about Trent too. Those two potentially not playing makes a real difference, so I’m going with a draw, but with both teams to score.

I know that means sitting on the fence, but Man City cannot afford to lose, on the back of recent results. It is so important for City, if they go to Anfield and lose, I don’t think they can go on and win the league.

I do fancy plenty of goals, so I’m also predicting Over 3.5 goals to be scored.

In terms of goal scorers, I’m going for Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah both to score. The big guns turn up for these big games and that’s what I see here. These are the best players in the country, on the pitch together, in the biggest game on the biggest stage – it will be a fantastic game.

The only caveat I would add in is over that possible injury to Konate – if he’s not fit – I might fancy a City win at Anfield.
