Let’s get his Bournemouth v Arsenal betting tips.

Bournemouth v Arsenal Bet Builder tips

Arsenal -1
Over 2.5 goals
Antoine Semenyo to have 2+ shots
Arsenal to receive the most cards
Over 4.5 Bournemouth corners

WHEN: Saturday 19th of October, 5:30pm
WHERE: The Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Premier League

It feels like a very long time since Arsenal’s titanic clash with Manchester City, doesn’t it? It is four weeks, to be fair, and that’s in Earth time, not ‘contains an international fortnight’ time, which is scientifically longer.

The reason that 2-2 draw is worth considering here is that it is the last game the Gunners played which wasn’t at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s agoraphobes need to get out on the road again, and they’re off to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening to play Bournemouth.

Arsenal -1, Over 2.5 goals

As away games go, recent history suggests this is one of the easier ones that Arsenal have to navigate each year. Since Bournemouth were promoted in 2022, this fixture has ended 0-3 and 0-4 to the visitors.

Reiss Nelson’s 97th-minute winner on home turf in March 2023 ensured a 3-2 win over Bournemouth went down in Gunners’ folklore. But the match in north London last season was a far more routine 3-0 victory.

Arsenal are too possession-savvy to fall victim to the Cherries’ high-pressing football which Andoni Iraola favours. They can play through the gaps and seemingly score at least three goals as a result, with Liverpool and Manchester City having also scored four times in games at Bournemouth in the last two seasons.

The Gunners have been too inconsistent this season, with a couple of red cards and tougher-than-expected clashes with Leicester and Southampton. It’s time for them to exert control.

They can do that here by overcoming the Handicap of -1, and as they will almost certainly score at least three, take Over 2.5 Goals for good measure.

Antoine Semenyo to have 2+ shots

In our review of week seven, we pointed out that Kai Havertz only scores in home games, while Antoine Semenyo is the only player in the Premier League to have had at least three shots in every game this season. Will either trend come into play here?

Having missed international duty with a knee injury, Havertz may not feature here. Equally, the cynical among you may expect him to be in the Gunners’ starting XI as usual.

As we can’t be sure, here’s a pick for Semenyo – he’ll have 2 Or More Shots. Arsenal have not been impenetrable this season. Granted, the red cards have played a part, but only four teams in the division have conceded more shots, with none of them above seventh in the table.

With Semenyo averaging 4.7 per home game in 2024/25, he should pose problems for the Gunners. He might not hit his usual mark of three shots, as few players do against Arsenal, but two looks very achievable.

Arsenal to receive the most cards

Rob Jones is the referee for this one. It’s always worth checking the card markets when he is in town.

That is because he punishes away teams with cards more severely than home sides more than any other referee. On average, a Premier League team gets 0.17 more bookings on the road, but Jones’s figure is 0.73.

As Bournemouth has received more cards than their visitors just five times in 22 league home games under Iraola, Arsenal is back as the team to Receive the Most Cards.

Over 4.5 Bournemouth corners

We can expect the Gunners to concede a few corners, too. Bournemouth have had more than any non-Big Six club this season, joint-fourth most overall.

A bet on them to have Over 4.5 Corners has only failed to pay out in one of their seven league matches in 2024/25. Even then, it only missed by one, with their average at the Vitality Stadium being seven per game.

With them likely needing to chase a result and our boy Semenyo taking potshots from distance, a few deflections and blocked crosses makes Bournemouth having at least five corners look inevitable.
