Eddie Nketiah to score

Arsenal fans were quite dismissive of Eddie Nketiah over the summer, but he has made the most of Gabriel Jesus’s absence by making a strong start to the season.

Nketiah scored Arsenal’s opening goal in their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season and won the decisive penalty in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.

He will have plenty of chances to add to his account when Arsenal welcome Fulham to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners should dominate against a Fulham team that may be suffering from second season syndrome.
Fulham were well beaten by London rivals Brentford at Craven Cottage last time out and were incredibly fortunate to beat Everton on the opening day of the season, with Everton spurning several golden opportunities.

Arsenal will not be so forgiving and should win comfortably, leaving Nketiah with every chance of finding the back of the net for the second home game running.

6pm: Brentford v Crystal Palace – Both teams to score, Brentford to have five or more shots on target

Crystal Palace have been involved in two 1-0s so far this season, beating Sheffield United on the opening day of the season before going down to a narrow home defeat against Arsenal last time out.

Brentford, on the other hand, have been far more entertaining, opening their campaign with a 2-2 draw with Spurs before thumping Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Saturday’s meeting is therefore a clash between a side that has been involved in entertaining games so far and a side whose games have been dull for the most part.

Brentford have faced 28 shots in the league so far and their entertaining style should win out on Saturday, making for an entertaining, goal-filled game with both teams to score

Palace have only faced a combined three shots on target so far this season, but they face a Brentford side that creates problems for every team it comes up against on Saturday.

Thomas Frank’s side have scored five goals from 14 shots on target in their two games to date this season, despite having less than 50% in both games.

They have replaced the seemingly irreplaceable Ivan Toney with a forward line consisting of Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa, who have both scored in each of Brentford’s opening two games.

Brentford, with Mbuemo and Wissa leading the line, will create problems for Palace on Saturday and should test Sam Johnstone on at least five occasions.

Man Utd v Nottingham Forest – Man Utd to take over 7.5 corners

United have enjoyed a thoroughly mediocre start to the season and actually find themselves behind Saturday’s opponents on goal difference.

They do, however, boast an excellent recent record against Forest, beating them four times last season, scoring ten goals and conceding none.

With a trip to Arsenal looming on the horizon, Erik Ten Hag’s side will be desperate to win this one comfortably and they should dominate against a side that has won precisely one away league game in 20 attempts since returning to the Premier League.

Forest have conceded 15 corners in their two games so far this season, while United have won 14 in their two games at an average of seven per game.

They are likely to better that average against a Forest side that conceded the second-highest number of goals from corner kicks last season.

Everton v Wolves – Over 5.5 cards

Everton and Wolves go into this game as the bottom two sides in the Premier League after a remarkably similar and equally disastrous opening two games of the season.

Both sides dominated their opening game only to miss a host of glorious opportunities and lose 1-0 before conceding four goals in their second game of the season after being thoroughly outclassed.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see both team involved in the relegation battle later in the season, making Saturday’s game something of a six-pointer.

With both sides in desperate need of a win, there is likely to be a significant amount of tension in the air at Goodison Park on Saturday, which could lead to a flurry of cards, especially with the new refereeing directives in place for time wasting and dissent.

Wolves average three cards per game in the league compared to Everton’s average of two, but things could get significantly feistier on Saturday and it wouldn’t be surprising to see six cards or more.
