Brighton v Man United, Sunday, April 23rd, 4:30pm
TV: BBC One

People might’ve thought “Oh yeah, City and United in the final, it’s going to be great” after the semi-final draw was made but it’s not going that be that simple.

Brighton are unbelievably good at the moment – one of the best teams to watch in the league. I can get enough of them.

The manager’s great, Kaoru Mitoma is class and they’ve got a lot of really good players.

So anyone thinking this is a foregone conclusion is way off the mark in my view.

And coming off the back of Man United’s disappointment in Sevilla on Thursday night, this is a very difficult game for them.

Erik ten Hag’s done a good job there this season but they’re still far from the finished article as games like that show.

The injuries to the likes of Rashford and Martinez, and suspensions of Fernandes and Casemiro, really haven’t helped recently.

They’re incredibly important players through the spine of the team. When the likes of Maguire comes in for Martinez it’s just not the same as when he plays for England.

By the time this game starts they’ll know if City are in the final and that could give them a bit of extra-motivation to stop their attempt at the Treble.

They definitely have the ability to bounce back after the Europa League exit but Brighton are full of confidence and wouldn’t surprise me to see them going through.

I do think there’ll be goals though and both sides have the fire power to get on the scoresheet on Sunday.

Mitoma’s the man for me. Evan Ferguson will be a big miss for them but the Japanese  winger has been one of the signings of the season.

I just love watching him play and he’ll be involved here.

Marcus Rashford cam on versus Sevilla and is working his way back to full fitness.

He’s always a threat but Bruno Fernandes should be in the thick of it too for United and I’d fancy him to cause problems for Brighton.

I wouldn’t expect there to be loads of cards but this is  the semi-final of the cup – there’s something at stake here.

Also, Brighton have the ability to make top players look silly – I’ve been in that position before and you can lose your rag a bit when you feel like things aren’t going your way when they should be.

I can see the odd card for Man United and Casemiro has picked up quite a few this season, so seems likely to do it again here.

While Luke Shaw will probably start at centre-back because of all the injuries and suspensions for United and could forced into making a few rash challenges.
