Man City v Liverpool, Saturday, April 1st, 12:30pm
TV: BT Sport 1
In previous years this has often felt like a title decider. Everyone would’ve expected it to be again this year, but Arsenal have been so good and Liverpool so inconsistent.
We know Klopp’s side are more than capable of beating City on their day – they already did once this season – and that could open up a big gap at the top if Arsenal win against Leeds this weekend.
After they’d beaten Man United in style it felt like they’d go on a run and make a challenge for the top 4.
Then they do something like losing to Bournemouth.
It was so lackluster – defensively, they switched off, attacking-wise, they had no urgency – so you just don’t know what you’ll get with Liverpool this season.
Contrast that with City. They’ve scored 13 goals in their last two games!

Haaland’s on fire too.
He missed Norway’s games during the break and they’re going to be careful with him, but the way he scores, he can get three or four goals and they can take him off after 60 minutes sometimes.
If he’s anywhere near fit though he’ll play because this is a big game in the title race.
Liverpool have a few doubts of their own which doesn’t help. Gakpo might make it back from illness but Nunez is out, Thiago and Bacjetic too, but it’s their defensive frailties that worry me on Saturday.
It’ll be a tight game I think, but City will probably shade because they’ll take advantage of any weaknesses there.
Of course, Liverpool can get up for a game like this and turn the form around but the way they’re playing, it’d be a surprise if they pulled something off.
City just have threats from all over the pitch, even with Phil Foden now out.
Haaland will play in my view, and we know how lethal he is. Mahrez will probably be in too and he’s always dangerous.
Jack Grealish should feature too and will pose problems for the Liverpool defence.
For Liverpool, it’s always hard to look past Mo Salah.
And with the injuries to the other forwards, he should be the main focus of their attack on Saturday.
This has become a rivalry as the two teams battled for the title over recent years – it’s become the biggest game on the calendar, like Arsenal v Man United was before.
Even if they’re not both challenging for the league this season we could see a bit of that again. Fabinho and Rodri will both be involved in the midfield battle and I can see a few fouls for each.
