These last few days of pre-tournament build up are a nightmare. It’s so much easier as a player than a fan because you’re a little bit sheltered from the hype and you’re concentrating on your game.
I’m so jealous of the players right now. I’d love to be in that camp getting ready for a big tournament that everyone there rightly thinks they have a good chance of winning.

Historically the opening games are always tight, they’re always a bit cagey.
Hopefully England can go out there and put on a show but quite often that’s not the case and I think this will be a tough game.
I think it might be one goal either way and I can see both teams scoring but I fancy England to Win 2-1.
Harry Kane could get off to a flyer, he’ll be there or thereabouts for the Golden Boot and he’s had a magnificent season.
I think it’s gone under the radar just because Bayern haven’t won anything. To get 40-odd goals in your first season in a different league is unbelievable so he’ll be well up for it.
It looks like Trent Alexander Arnold is going to play in the middle which could mean Jude Bellingham’s behind Harry Kane with Phil Foden out on the left but these days they’re so fluid. No.10s are not like the No.10s of old, everyone works hard and moves about.
I’d personally go with Bellingham and Declan Rice in the middle and then go for it with Foden in the 10, Anthony Gordon on the left and Bukayo Saka on the right if he’s fit.
But, wherever he plays, Foden’s always a threat and we saw the kind of form he was in at the end of the season. He’s our most naturally-gifted player.
Rice is going to have to get stuck in in midfield, it looks like he’s going to be the anchor man and you have to put it about. He plays like two men for Arsenal because he’s so good going both forward and defensively.
He understands what a game needs and he’s so solid. He’s one of the key players for England and he’ll want to impose himself on the game.
Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic are both very handy forwards. Mitrovic knows English football inside out and he would have played against all of these players.
I think Serbia will score on Sunday night and Mitrovic is certainly going to be a big danger.
