Our footie tipster Eoghan Gately has five fancies for the big one on Sunday.

Time flies when you’re having fun eh? Hard to believe that we’ve made it this far and that England are actually still at the tournament! We can say what we want about Gareth Southgate, but at the end of the day, if not playing football is the best way to play football, then maybe he’s actually a genius after all? Not a particularly exciting genius like Elon Musk, nor a keen aggressive tackler like Boris with this absolute mincing challenge.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

WHEN: Sunday, July 11: 8pm
WHERE: Wembley Stadium, London
TV: BBC, ITV and RTÉ2

But if it works, it works. All bets are off though coming up against this exciting Italian side led by Roberto Mancini who looks the exact same as he did during his tenure at Wigan – timeless. Speaking of which… has anyone heard from Wigan? Anyways, we have our eyes open for an absolute cracker. Hopefully without any laser pointer action. Let’s get to seeing what we can put in a Bet Builder for this match!

Over 2.5 Goals

I really believe if anybody is going to break through that brick wall that England have built at the halfway line that it’ll be Italy. Their movement has been incredible all through the competition, and somehow have managed to retain it while also being able to move forward. Expect both sides to release the handbrake here and go all out for 90 minutes of footballing glory!

England to Win

Project: It’s Coming Home is reaching its final stage, surely they can’t let it all fall apart now? I mean, they absolutely could, but I can’t see it happening here. A home game in Wembley- the magic of a packed-out Wembley should give any extra oomph that may be required for the three lions as they feast on the spaghetti mafia.

Harry Kane to Have 2 or More Shots on Target

Harry Kane has proved over the duration of this tournament, that he is in fact the opposite of a Tottenham player. Getting better as the tournament has gone on? Preposterous, unheard of in north London. Expect Kane to have another big game, but whether or not he’ll find the net against man-mountain Gianluigi Donnarumma is another question altogether!

Both Teams to Score

Just like the Denmark game, I can see England loosening up slightly from their defensive structure and getting a little more adventurous. This means that Italy could definitely find their way to the back of Jordan Pickford’s net, let’s just hope that he doesn’t remember how he plays for Everton and all should be alright! England will break down senior citizens Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci – we hope for goals in this game!

Luke Shaw to be Booked

The Burger King will have his hands full down that left flank on Sunday. Between Federico Chiesa or Domenico Berardi (inevitably both) on the wings, Nicolo Barella or Manuel Locatelli coming wide from midfield or even the impressive Giovani Di Lorenzo coming up from the back – there’s a lot of pace coming down that side of the pitch and with it, tonnes of pressure. Luke Shaw is well able for it, but expect him to get caught out at least once and have his name taken by Bjorn Kuipers.
