It’s a lovely little appetiser with Belgium taking on Portugallater on Sunday evening, but there’s money to be won and this is a mouth-watering clash in its own right. So, without further ado, here’s the in-form Thommo on Sunday’s 5pm game.
You’ve got to fancy Holland. Them and Italy, I think, have been the surprise packages with what they’ve produced. People would think, because of the Virgil van Dijk situation, that Holland may not come to the party but they certainly have.
They’ve scored eight goals, only conceded two and Gini Wijnaldum has been on fire and so has Memphis Depay. I do fancy Netherlands to Win this, I really do.
Sunday 5pm: Netherlands v Czech Republic ITV and ITV Hub
They got nine points with three wins from the group games and I don’t think you can look past them. The Czechs were one of the 3rd-placed qualifiers with four points. Patrik Schick has done really well. They’ve scored three and conceded two. But, it’s only a Dutch victory for me.
I am going for 2-0 to the Netherlands. I just think it will be comfortable. They will do enough. They’ve been really impressive and I really think Memphis, who’s had a great tournament so far, I’m expecting Depay to Score Anytime.
Wijnaldum’s done exceptionally well. He’s got a little bit more of an offensive role for Holland than he does for Liverpool, hence his three goals so far.
