PSG vs Bayern Munich
TV: BT Sport 2
Draw
PSG couldn’t have asked for a worse preparation for their Champions League first leg against Bayern Munich. Not only have they lost Kylian Mbappe to injury, but they have also been dumped out of the French Cup and suffered a convincing defeat at Monaco in the league within the last week.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi missed Saturday’s defeat through injury and it remains to be seen if he will be fully fit.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have not set the world alight since the return of the Bundesliga last month. The perennial German champions have drawn four of their six league games since the return of club football, which has seen their lead at the top of the table reduced to just a point.
Bayern are also without key players such as Lucas Hernandez, Sadio Mane, and Manuel Neuer for Tuesday’s trip to Paris and will be more than happy to take a draw back to Germany.
Lionel Messi to Score Anytime
Lionel Messi may not be at his freshest on Tuesday night, but he is still PSG’s best chance of scoring, especially in the absence of Kylian Mbappe. Messi has scored three goals in six appearances since returning from the World Cup, including a terrific winner against Toulouse at the beginning of February.
He has scored four goals in five Champions League games this season and an impressive 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions for PSG this season.
Messi’s record of seven goals in seven games at the World Cup proves that he can still do it at the highest level, and PSG will need him to perform on Tuesday night. The Argentinian maestro last faced Bayern in the humiliating 8-2 defeat in August 2020 and will be hoping to exact some revenge in Tuesday night’s first leg.

AC Milan vs Tottenham
TV: BT Sport 1
Tottenham to Win
Tottenham’s 4-1 away defeat at Leicester may not have been the ideal preparation for their first-leg in Milan on Tuesday, but it is nothing compared to AC Milan’s.
The Italian champions have made a disastrous return since the World Cup, taking eight points from a possible 21 in a run of results that has seen them slip outside the Champions League places and leaving them a whopping 18 points off league leaders Napoli.
Tottenham have blown hot and cold over the last two months, but their impressive win over Manchester City proves that they can grind out important results. Tottenham beat AC Milan in the San Siro at this stage of the competition in their maiden Champions League campaign during the 2010/11 season and can do so again on Tuesday.
Over 2.5 goals
Neither Tottenham nor AC Milan have proven themselves particularly adept at defending this season, especially since the World Cup. Milan have shipped 15 goals in seven league games over the past month, while Tottenham have now conceded four goals in two of their last three away games.
Spurs boast the worst defensive record in the Premier League’s top ten by quite a distance, conceding 35 goals in 23 games, while they also boast the sixth-worst record in the entire division.
Milan also boast the worst defensive record in the top ten in Italy, conceding 30 goals in 22 games. It’s hard to see either side keeping a clean sheet on Tuesday, meaning Tottenham will have to score at least twice to come away with a vital away win.
