For Wednesday’s Women’s Champions League quarter finals we have Wolfsburg taking on the might of Barcelona in the early game and an all-English affair when Man City take on Chelsea in the later kickoff.
Football tipster Paddy Murphy has two picks from each game with value on his mind.

8pm Man City v Chelsea
Chelsea to win & both teams to score

Wolfsburg v Barcelona
Champions League match at Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg
TV: TNT Sports, 5:45pm
Over 3.5 goals
Barcelona are currently enjoying a nine-game run of victories where they’ve banged in a walloping 37 goals. That’s just over four goals per game. Surely that’ll be giving some of the Wolfsburg defenders a sleepless night or two ahead of this match.
The hosts have won two, drawn one and lost two over their last five fixtures but on home soil they’re pretty decent and have won five from five of late, scoring a healthy 24 goals.
Barca have won all 15 of their most recent away games and, over their last five, have scored 19 goals. With those stats, we simply have to back Over 3.5 Goals for this one.
Ewa Pajor to score
Robert Lewandowski isn’t the only Pole enjoying Catalan life.
His compatriot Ewa Pajor has been incredible since signing from Wolfsburg last season, scoring 17 goals in 20 league games and five in six in the Champions League. With seven goals over her last five fixtures, too, she looks like a good shout to add to her impressive tally against her former employers.
Man City v Chelsea
Champions League match at the Joie Stadium, Manchester
TV: TNT Sports, DAZN YouTube, 8pm
Chelsea to win & both teams to score
Chelsea have held the upper hand in recent editions of this clash. The Blues have won three of their last five visits to Manchester, and of their last five overall games, they’ve also won three.
Of their last five fixtures, Sonia Bompastor’s side have played 31 games this season and have won all bar two when Leicester and Brighton held them to a draw. Of their last 10 on the road, they’ve won eight and drawn two, scoring 11 and conceding four over their last five.
City have won three, drawn one, and lost one over their last five, the most recent being a 2-1 loss away to Chelsea. On home turf, they’ve won three and lost two, scoring 14 while conceding nine.
With these records, you’d have to expect both teams to get on the scoresheet, but with more goals among the ranks of the away side, as well as them having something of a hoodoo over the hosts, they should be able to take the victory.
Khadija Shaw to score
Khadija Shaw has to get the nod here to get on the scoresheet.
She’s having yet another outstanding season with City, scoring 12 in 14 in the league, two in the FA Cup and five in five in the Champions League. She also scored four goals over her last five games in a City shirt and four over her last five at home too.
