It’s Carabao Cup Final time on Sunday with Liverpool v Newcastle kicking off at 4:30pm at Wembley.
The Geordies are travelling south hoping to lift a trophy for the first time since the telly was black-and-white, while their silverware-laden opponents would still love to get Arne Slot’s first pot perched on the mantlepiece in March rather than May.

PSG were Liverpool’s biggest test this season and they were fantastic, so it’s no disgrace losing to that side – the game on Wednesday night could easily have been a final the standard was so high.
I’d seen a good bit of PSG before the tie and been impressed but I thought Liverpool would just beat them, but Luis Enrique’s side showed up both nights – they were brilliant across the tie, and, If I’m honest, they deserved to go through.
It’s like chalk and cheese from where they were a few years ago. They could go on and win the Champions League now in my view.
Playing through extra-time is probably the biggest impact that result will have on Sunday’s Carabao Cup final. Liverpool had to play 120 minutes while Newcastle haven’t played since last weekend, so fatigue could become a factor, especially if this goes to extra time as well.
And Arne Slot had to reorganise his defence during the game too with Trent getting injured and it’s not ideal if Jarrell Quansah has to fill in at right-back.
But Newcastle do have one or two selection issues too. The biggest one for me is Anthony Gordon. He’s a key player for them but he’s suspended for this game and that’s a big loss.
Alexander Isak is fit though and is crucial for them. He scored a fantastic goal against Liverpool earlier in the season and he’s the one centre-forward who really unsettled Virgil van Dijk. He could play for any team in world football he’s that good. He’s special player and gives them a chance on Sunday.
I’m expecting a really great atmosphere too for the game. I’m going to it with my son and I think it should be a great occasion with the two sets of supporters. Newcastle haven’t won anything in so long and their fans are going to be so up for this, while we all know how great Liverpool’s fans are. It’ll be a great spectacle and I’m really looking forward to it.
For Liverpool, I do think it would be really disappointing to lose this in the same week that they’ve been knocked out of Europe. I know it looks like they’ve sewn up the league, and that’s an amazing achievement in Slot’s first season, but it would be a bit of let down to not win another competition when they’ve been going so well all season.

And I think Liverpool will go and win on Sunday.
Anthony Gordon is a big miss for Newcastle. Liverpool might have a couple of injuries and fatigue from their European game in midweek but they should get over the line on Sunday.
And in 90 minutes too as they definitely don’t want more extra-time.
Mo Salah to score
It’s obvious, but Mo Salah is the best goalscorer option for me.
I could see Darwin Nunez coming on in the second half and scoring too, but Salah’s the pick for a Bet Builder.
Alexander Isak to have 1+ shots on goal
I love watching Isak play. I think Liverpool will struggle to keep him out, to be honest, and he should be a great option for a shot on target at least.

Joelinton’s had the most cards for Newcastle this season so I’ll go for him to get another in this massive game.
