Lille v Borussia Dortmund
Champions League match at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Lille
TV: TNT Sports, 5;45pm
Serhou Guirassy 1+ shots on target
Serhou Guirassy has been Dortmund’s leading goal scorer this season in the Champions League. He has scored 10 goals in 11 appearances in the competition so far and is averaging 2.21 shots on target per 90 minutes.
He’ll be crucial to his side’s chances of coming through this tie with his goalscoring ability.
Guirassy had limited chances in the first leg, with just one shot on target for each side in a tentative opening leg. Still, the game should open up here, especially in the latter stages if either of these sides manages to find a goal, which should offer opportunities to Guirassy to find the target.
He’s also on penalties for Dortmund, which can offer the forward another route to the target.
Arsenal v PSV
Champions League match at the Emirates Stadium, London
TV: TNT Sports, 8pm
Ismael Saibari 2+ shots
Ismael Saibari is quite trigger happy, he has had 26 shots across his 10 appearances in the Champions League this season (3.22 per 90) and has had 2+ shots in four of his last five games in the competition.
PSV are 7-1 down heading into this second leg, so it is effectively a free hit for Peter Bosz’s side who are likely to have a go at getting back into the tie, which may take the pressure off the Eredivisie side and allow them to create chances at the Emirates.
Arsenal are expected to rotate slightly given that this game is sandwiched between games against Man United and Chelsea.
Saibari had one shot in the first leg, from which he hit the post early. If that had gone in, it would have changed the complexion of the tie, but as it is, the Gunners have a resounding lead that PSV are unlikely to overturn.
However, they can apply pressure and get a few shots off on goal, with Saibari always looking likely to let fly when he gets within shooting distance.
Aston Villa v Club Brugge
Champions League match at Villa Park, London
TV: TNT Sports, 8pm
Axel Disasi 1+ fouls committed
Axel Disasi has been lining up as a right-back in recent weeks due to the issues Aston Villa have been having with injuries. He’s been impressive since joining on loan from Chelsea in January, with Unai Emery singling him out for praise on multiple occasions.
Disasi showcased his quality at right-back in the first leg and against Brentford, effectively neutralising the threat of the dangerous Kevin Schade.
Disasi will face Christos Tzolis, Club Brugge’s most dangerous attacking threat. Tzolis is also entirely consistent when it comes to winning fouls.
He’s won 13 fouls across his 11 appearances for Club Brugge in the Champions League this season (1.34 per 90), suggesting he can be a problem for Disasi.
Disasi has been impressive at right-back, but it’s still not his natural position. He can be a little awkward on the ball but still firm and robust in his challenges, which sets him up nicely to commit a foul.
Disasi lined up at right-back earlier in the season for Chelsea in the Conference League, he committed 11 fouls across his six appearances in the competition (1.94 per 90), a record we should begin to see soon in Villa colours.
Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid
Champions League match at the Metropolitano, Madrid
TV: TNT Sports, 8pm
Rodrygo 1+ shots on target
Rodrygo opened the scoring in the first leg with a fantastic run and finish, which set the tone for Real Madrid’s 2-1 win at the Bernabeu.
Rodrygo is often overlooked in this Real Madrid side due to the quality of Bellingham, Vinicius Jr and Mbappe. Still, Rodrygo is equally effective in front of goal, especially in the Champions League.
Rodrygo is averaging 3.02 shots and 1.37 on target per 90 minutes in the Champions League this season, a record that has returned five goals in Europe.
He’s only posted an xG of 2.23 in the Champions League this campaign, which suggests that Rodrygo has been clinical when given opportunities.
