Nottingham Forest v Ipswich – Nottingham Forest to win & both teams to score
FA Cup match at The City Ground, Nottingham
TV: ITV4, 7:30pm
An easy home win for Nottingham Forest you might be thinking? The odds certainly suggest so, meaning the market is heavily favouring Nuno Espírito Santo’s side. We’re not quite sure it’ll be the walkover many are expecting however.
Forest are on a bit of a downward turn. They’ve lost to both Fulham and Newcastle over the last fortnight and drew 0-0 with Arsenal at home on Wednesday night. Santo has won much praise this season for a defence that has only conceded 10 goals at home in the Premier League, which is tied with Liverpool for the least amount of goals shipped.
However, they’ve conceded eight over their last four games in all competitions and three over their last four at home.
Ipswich are obviously struggling but they’ve scored in all six of their most recent fixtures and on their travels have scored in five from five and eight over their last 10 too. They’ve been shipping plenty too, so both should be scoring here.
We’d have to back the hosts too, seeing as they’ve now gone eight undefeated at The City Ground, six wins, two draws, and with 13 goals over their last five at home, they should be outsourcing the away side.
Juventus v Verona – Over 2.5 goals
Serie A match at the Allianz Stadium, Turin
TV: OneFootball, 7:45pm
Verona don’t really have a proverbial snowball’s here. Over their last 10 visits to Turin to take on the Old Lady, they’ve lost nine and drawn just one. The odds for a home win very much reflect that record.
The home side are enjoying an incredibly good run of form at home in the Serie A. They’ve gone undefeated so far this season, winning three and drawing two of their last five, scoring 11, conceding five, scoring at least two goals in four of those five matches.
The away side aren’t exactly a pushover, though. They’ve rallied of late, putting some distance between themselves and the relegation zone, winning two, drawing one, and losing two over their last five in the league.
On their travels, they’ve had the same results, scoring five and conceding six. Both teams are in robust goal-scoring form, as we can see from those stats. We’ll likely see at least three goals being scored.

Villarreal v Espanyol – Villarreal to win & both teams to score
La Liga match at the Estadio de la Cerámica, Villarreal
TV: Premier Sports, LaLigaTV, 8pm
Villarreal come into this La Liga clash in good form. They’ve won four and drawn six of their last six, scoring a rather respectable 14 goals. On home soil, Marcelino García Toral’s side have won two, drawn two, and lost one, scoring 12 and conceding five.
Espanyol have won two, drawn two, and lost one over their last five in the league but away from home things haven’t been as rosy, as they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three, scoring three goals, however, all three goals came in their most recent away games.
It’s worth noting, too, that Espanyol have scored in all seven of their last league fixtures, and the hosts have only kept two clean sheets over their 12 home games this term.
The hosts have been far more clinical in front of the sticks though, so we’re backing them to win and both teams to score.
Sporting v Estoril – 3-6 goals range
Primeira Liga at the Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon
TV: TrillerTV, 8:15pm
At the time of writing, Sporting top the Primeira standings, with Benfica behind them on goal difference. They’re undefeated over their last 10 games in the league with five wins and five draws. On home soil, they’ve won four and drawn one, scoring 11 and conceding five.
Estoril are in mighty form. They’ve won five and drawn one over their last six in the league and away from home, they’ve won three, drawn one, and lost one, scoring 11 and conceding 10. We should see the nets rattling here, we’re backing 3-6 in the Goals Range market.
