Chelsea are experiencing what it can be like with a young squad sometimes, when I look back at the last few weeks. Both performances against Brighton, in the league and the FA Cup, were not good.
Against Villa at the weekend, there were little moments where they were good, but a defeat means they have now dropped down to 7th in the table.
Going into this game, they simply need to get a win as they look to keep pace with the teams around them. Southampton are rock bottom with just nine points and they lost 4-0 against Brighton at the weekend.
The Southampton boss Ivan Juric described their performance as a disaster and I would have to agree with him on that one.
I’m going for a home win, but without any real confidence, as you don’t know what Chelsea team is going to turn up right now.
I will also go for Cole Palmer to score or assist, he had a few chances to score against Villa, and he’s on his longest run without scoring since he joined Chelsea – but class always comes forward with a player like him.
I also think Chelsea will keep a clean sheet due to Southampton’s struggles.
