As the 2024/25 Premier League reaches what is very much the crunch and we get into single-digit games remaining, Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson is coming on strong as that finish line gets closer and closer.
Once again the Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and tested which way the footballing winds are blowing to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Let’s see what the future holds…

Tuesday 7.30pm: Brighton v Bournemouth
I’m going to go for a Brighton win in this one, they’ve really started to build up a head of steam now. I really like Bournemouth, and they’ve been great, but I just fancy Brighton to continue their rise up the table. Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth.
Tuesday 7.30pm: Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
This will be a close game, I feel. I wonder if the sheer volume of games that Aston Villa have played over the last few weeks might catch up with them a bit. Crystal Palace are getting better and Selhurst Park is a tough place to go so this could be a draw. Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa.
Tuesday 7.30pm: Wolves v Fulham
Fulham are still going well but, you know what, I’m going to put my neck out for a Wolves win here. They’ve just started to look a bit better and they’re not bad under Vitor Pereira. Until Saturday they hadn’t been getting the results but they look a bit better going forward now than they had been. As witnessed against Palace at the weekend, Fulham are the kind of team who slip up when you don’t expect it. Wolves 2-0 Fulham.
Tuesday 8.15pm: Chelsea v Southampton
Chelsea are not as good as they were but they should win this comfortably. They need to get back on the horse and this is a good chance to get a good atmosphere going around the club again. Chelsea 3-0 Southampton.
Wednesday 7.30pm: Brentford v Everton
Brentford had a really easy win on Friday but Leicester were hopeless in all honesty. This is a tough one for Everton because Brentford are a bit like a better, stronger, version of themselves. Brentford should out Everton Everton, if that makes any sense! Brentford 2-0 Everton.
Wednesday 7.30pm: Man Utd v Ipswich
It would be just like Manchester United to go on and lose this game. I can’t say that they will actually lose though and they should have too much for Ipswich. It will be nice for them to paper over the cracks a little. Manchester United 2-0 Ipswich.
Wednesday 7.30pm: Nottingham Forest v Arsenal
This is a really big game and I know Nottingham Forest have slightly dipped a bit of late but, with no strikers available for Arsenal, I’m leaning towards a home win. Forest’s two centre backs are really, really good so I’m going to back Forest to put the cat among the pigeons and just win this. Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal.
Wednesday 7.30pm: Spurs v Man City
Manchester City have become Spursy – they’re posh Spursy! You just don’t know with City at the moment and playing Liverpool and Real Madrid in the same week is no joke. That has to take something out of you so I’m going to go for Tottenham to win this. They’ve got a lot of players back and are starting to look like a team again. I’m not sure we can say that about City right now. Tottenham 2-1 Manchester City.
Wednesday 8.15pm: Liverpool v Newcastle
This is one of the great Premier League fixtures and I’ll be at Anfield on Wednesday night. Newcastle have made it really awkward for Liverpool over the last couple of years. That said, you can’t really go against Liverpool at the moment despite a couple of draws of late. I’m expecting a reaction. Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle.
Thursday 8pm: West Ham v Leicester
Leicester need to win this, no doubt about it. But, to be honest with you, they’re so far adrift of West Ham now they’re not going to catch them so it’s three from four at the bottom. Leicester were a shambles on Friday and, even though the Hammers are not great, this should be a home win. West Ham 2-0 Leicester.
