As the 2024/25 Premier League season rounds the bend and embarks on the long journey to the finish line, Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson is showing trademark stamina as he continues to gaze into his crystal ball every single week.
The Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and tested which way the footballing winds are blowing to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Let’s see what the future holds…

Friday 8pm: Leicester v Brentford
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Brentford are ticking along nicely, they won last time out but they’re very much mid table which is just fine for them at the moment. Leicester are totally unconvincing in a number of departments so I’ll go with Brentford to win this one. Leicester 1-2 Brentford.
Saturday 12:30pm: Everton v Man Utd
TV: TNT Sports 1TNT Sports Ultimate
I thought Everton were going to get pummeled by Crystal Palace last week after all the energy they spent in the Merseyside derby but they won again and they’re going to be absolutely fine for another year in the Premier League. You’ve got no idea what Manchester United is going to turn up. I’ll play it safe and go for a draw but everyone’s on notice now that it’s going to be tough playing against Everton. Everton 1-1 Manchester United.
Saturday 3pm: Arsenal v West Ham
West Ham have not done well but they’re not going to go down. They might get themselves up for this and Arsenal having no strikers is a big, big problem. You can’t rely on defensive midfielders every week though, to be fair to Mikel Merino, those were good finishes against Leicester. Is he going to start up front in this game? Raheem Sterling looks completely gone. He’s got no confidence and has lost half a yard of pace. He’ll probably go and score a hat-trick now but I don’t see it. Arsenal 1-1 West Ham.
Saturday 3pm: Bournemouth v Wolves
I was impressed with Wolves against Liverpool, they could have snatched a point, but you don’t get the consistency with the teams down at the bottom. That’s a problem for them but I might go for another score draw. Bournemouth have done so well that they’re due a bit of a slip up. Bournemouth 1-1 Wolves.
Saturday 3pm: Fulham v Crystal Palace
I was surprised that Crystal Palace lost against Everton so maybe they’re not quite where I thought they were in terms of their development. I keep banging on about how good a job Marco Silva’s done with Fulham so I’ll side with them in this game. Fulham 2-1 Crystal Palace.
Saturday 3pm: Ipswich v Spurs
Ange Postecoglou has got a few players back and they’ve tightened up in defence a bit. I bet they all feel good after beating United last week and it’s two in a row now. They should make it three wins on the bounce here. Ipswich 0-2 Tottenham.
Saturday 3pm: Southampton v Brighton
I said a couple of weeks ago that I fancied Brighton to go on a bit of a run and there’s no better place to go now if you fancy a win than Southampton!. Southampton 0-2 Brighton.
Saturday 5.30pm: Aston Villa v Chelsea
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I’m going to go for Aston Villa to win even though they had a tough game against Liverpool on Wednesday night. They’ve got a good squad there that got even better in January. Their form hasn’t been that good but it looks like Chelsea are heading for a serious downturn, the way they’re playing. Aston Villa 2-1 Chelsea.
Sunday 2pm: Newcastle v Nottingham Forest
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I’m on a home win here. I think this game and these opponents will be right up Newcastle’s street. Dan Burn will be all over Chris Wood in that aerial battle. It will be a right scrap and if Burn can keep Woods quiet that will have a big impact as he’s the focal point of this Nottingham Forest team. Newcastle 2-1 Nottingham Forest.
Sunday 4.30pm: Man City v Liverpool
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I think Liverpool will win this quite easily which I would never, ever have said in the last five years. Especially not with Manchester City at home against Liverpool. There’s plenty wrong with City at the moment but Pep Guardiola’s had to bed in three new signings and it’s hard enough to get one in playing well straight away. Even the goalkeeper’s been in and out and the defence has been a little bit all over the shop. But it is Manchester City so we await to see how this one goes with baited breath! Manchester City 1-3 Liverpool.
