The European action rolls on into Thursday night this week and the final round of games in the Europa League first phase as Tottenham host Swedish side Elfsborg.
Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure as Spurs have slid down the Premier League table since the start of 2025 but their European form has been slightly better. Ahead of this game, they have already sealed a spot in the Round of 16 playoffs, and a win will secure an automatic place in the knockouts for Ange.
Sam Farley is back to deliver his top picks for Tuesday night. Let’s get his Tottenham v Elfsborg betting tips.

Son Heung-min to score
It’s been a disappointing season for Spurs, but Son Heung-Min still continues to be the best player in their team. His numbers haven’t been as elite as we’ve seen previously, but he’s still racked up goals and assists. In the Premier League he’s had 12 goal contributions, split equally between goals and assists.
In Europe he’s played five and scored three, and is yet to register an assist, but he’ll fancy his chances against Elfsborg. The Swedes have been strong on home soil, but their three away games in the Europa League have seen them concede three to AZ Alkmaar, four to Galatasaray and three to Athletic Bilbao. Chances should fall for Son.
Both teams to score: Yes
We’ve spoken above about why Spurs will score with Son being involved. However, Elfsborg aren’t guaranteed a spot in the playoff stage and need to try and get something out of the game. They’ve scored in six of seven games in the first stage, while Spurs have conceded in five of their seven games in the competition, including the last four.
Elfsborg might be missing Michael Baidoo, who left to join Plymouth Argyle, but they will be thrilled with the injury crisis in the Spurs team that sees them with 14 players missing. Defensively they are in real trouble. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defenders Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven are out with Cristian Romero likely joining them. The team will also be without their other keeper Antonin Kinsky and defenders Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon are ineligible.
Dejan Kulusevski to have 1+ shots on target
While there are a number of Spurs players injured, there have some of their best attacking talents available, including Dejan Kulusevski. The 24-year-old has played well for the most part this season and has racked up nine goals in all competitions, as well as setting up a further eight.
In the Europa League he averages 1.4 shots per game and per 90 minutes played he’s averaging 0.76 shots on target. Given the weaknesses of this Elfsborg team, and the added responsibility that Kulusevski will take on because of the injuries, we should see him get at least one shot on target.
Besfort Zeneli to commit 2+ fouls
One of the stand-out performers for Elfsborg in this competition has been Besfort Zeneli, with the 22-year imposing himself in the heart of midfield against some big European teams this season. He averages 3.2 tackles per game and will need to get stuck into a Spurs midfield that’ll have Kulusevski and Rodrigo Benancur playing.
He’s averaged one foul per game in the first phase, but given the quality of opposition, as well as the importance of getting something out of this game, he could make a few crunching tackles.
Terry Yegbe to commit 1+ fouls
We’re backing another Elsfborg player in the fouls committed market and this time it’s Terry Yegbe, who’ll likely be on the left of a back three. That’s going to put him in a direct matchup with hot young Spurs talent Mikey Moore – and Dejan Kulusevski – who’ll bring the ball from midfield towards the box.
Yegbe has picked up two bookings in seven games so far and averages 0.7 fouls per game. Much like Zeneli, he faces superior opposition here, so he’s going to be at higher risk than usual of giving up a foul.
