By this time in January, you’ve likely heard enough about Janet in the office’s struggle to keep up her
New Year’s resolution but rumour has it that a few Premier League players have set themselves the target of getting stuck in more in 2025.
What better way to take advantage of that than to back the best foul related bets in Sunday’s four Premier League offerings?!

2pm: Palace v Brentford: Hughes to commit 2 + fouls
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Only four Premier League players make more fouls per 90 than Will Hughes 2.8. The angry midfielder absolutely loves putting himself about and has committed 15 in his last 5 starts, landing this bet in every game. He’s made 2.92 fouls per 90 in head-to-heads against the Bees and had 2 in the reverse at the start of the season.
Hughes will be up against Christian Norgaard who is fouled 1.09 fouls per 90 but will also have to cover Yoane Wissa who draws 1.75. An opposition central midfielder against Brentford has made 2 or more fouls in each of their last 4 games and with his data, Hughes looks a prime candidate to continue that trend.
2pm: Spurs v Leicester: Bergvall to commit 1+ fouls & be fouled 1+ times
Tottenham’s ever-growing injury list has meant that teenager Lucas Bergvall has become a staple part of their line-up in the middle of the park. He’s not been afraid to get stuck in either, averaging 2.13 fouls committed per 90 with at least one in each of his four Premier League starts. He’s also been fouled 1.55 times per 90, only failing to land this bet in one of those matches.
He’ll be marshalled by a combination of Boubakary Soumare, Harry Winks and Bilal El Khannous, a trio who have drawn 1.81 fouls and committed 3.4 fouls per 90 between them this season and so there’ll be plenty of foul action to go around. With any Ange player, we have to be mindful of injuries and luckily both of these legs are covered by Paddy’s ‘Super Sub’ guarantee.
4.30pm: Villa v West Ham: Kudus 5+ foul involvements
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
West Ham’s Ghanian maestro Mohammed Kudus is never too far away from the referee’s whistle as he regularly gets a kicking but can also dish it out himself. The winger has averaged 3.23 foul involvements per game this season and since Graham Potter took over has had totals of 5, 2 and 5. One of those 5’s came against these opponents in the FA Cup, continuing a trend of Kudus foul involvements that has seen him have 5, 7 and 5 in his last 3 matches against Emery’s men.
Kudus has been played through the middle by Potter so far and if he does so again, he’ll be tussling with Ezri Konsa who draws plenty of fouls and will also be marked by Tielemans and Kamara who themselves average 3.12 and 2.87 foul involvements per 90.
7pm: Fulham v Man Utd: Dalot to commit 2+ fouls
TV: TNT Sport 1 and TNT Sport Ultimate
Portuguese full back Diogo Dalot has committed more fouls per game than any other Man Utd player since the start of Ruben Amorim’s reign, averaging 1.57 per game. He’s made at least 2 fouls in 3 of his last 4 starts in all competitions and his last six away appearances have forced him into 15 fouls.
He’s been playing at left wing back, which isn’t his natural role and he will likely have to deal with Harry Wilson who has drawn 1.62 fouls per 90 this season. He’s also committed two fouls in each of his last 3 games against Fulham and so clearly has something against the Cottagers.
