The European football action continues with the Europa League on Thursday with the Premier League’s two struggling sides in action. The new-fangled league phase format means extra games in January as the race for the last 16 hots up.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham can’t seem to buy a win and a trip to floundering German side Hoffenheim doesn’t guarantee a turnaround.

It’s been a challenging period for Spurs; we don’t know what’s going on down there; they’ve been all over the place.
We greatly praised Ange Postecoglou’s team’s performance when he came in, but you have to adapt in football. If you’re missing your central defenders and try to play the same way, you get the mess they are currently in.
They have some world-class players, such as Son Heung-Min, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski, who are more than capable of switching to a different style of play, but the manager has not done that.
They have gone eight Premier League games without a win and are 15th in the table. They are also ninth in the Europa League table, below the top eight they need to qualify for the knockout stages. However, this might be the perfect game for Tottenham, as Hoffenheim only have one win in the Europa League this season.
So, just on a hunch, Spurs and Ange could get a reprieve here and secure the win.
Both teams to score is always the way to go in Tottenham games, so I’m backing that as well.
Despite Spurs’ horrific form, Dejan Kulusevski has been on fire, so I am backing him to get on the scoresheet.
Brennan Johnson is also another danger when he’s on form, so I’m going with him to hit two or more shots
