Tottenham, I thought, were dreadful the other night against Arsenal. The midfield of Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma got overrun and one thing a David Moyes team will do is compete.
I fancy Everton in this, I really do. It will have to be a low-scoring game if Everton are to win so I’m going 1-0 to the home team. Idrissa Gueye is worth keeping an eye on because he’s averaging over two tackles per 90 minutes played and, even at his age, he’s still getting about.
That Spurs midfield wasn’t combative enough and Everton will definitely bring the fight. Spurs do throw bodies forward and they will test the goalkeeper. Jordan Pickford’s probably the most over-worked keeper, other than Southampton and Leicester’s, in the whole league.
I fancy Pickford to make at least three saves in a 1-0 Everton win. Gueye could make 2 or more fouls on a brilliant day for David Moyes and another difficult one for Ange Postecoglou.
