The extended midweek Premier League schedule features a cracker on Thursday night as Ipswich Town play host to Brighton & Hove Albion. The hosts will be looking to build on their positive start to 2025 whilst the visitors continue to be the top-flight’s draw specialists in recent weeks.
Our football tipster, Andrew Cunneen, has searched the market for value in this game and created a tasty bet builder, as the Seagulls aim to dodge the Tractor Boys, let’s get his Ipswich v Brighton betting tips.
Andrew’s back a player on the shots marker here, too, which is both covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, meaning if the player is substituted, the pick carries over to his replacement.

The Draw
Nothing, and I mean nothing, screams Barclays more than Ipswich v Brighton on a Thursday night, right? Box office. To make matters worse, I’ll try to convince you that we’re likely to see a draw, too.
Not even taking into account their drawback in September, Ipswich now needs to try and pick up as many points as they can while weathering the storm of being without key contributors. It’s somewhat of a siege mentality despite Brighton being the most injured side in the league, and until Sammie Szmodics and Omari Hutchinson are back, they’ll be nowhere near their best.
Without Joao Pedro, it seems likely that Brighton will be disjointed; no matter how much their output relies on the system over the players, they’re going to miss his presence in the opposition box.
What’s incredible is how they’ve subconsciously accepted sharing the spoils in the league over the last while – with stalemates against West Ham, Brentford, Villa and Arsenal in there.
Does the win over Norwich burst the dam and have them reverting to a goalscoring juggernaut capable of finding a winner when it’s most needed? I have my doubts.
Liam Delap to have 3+ shots
Not only are you getting Liam Delap to-hand here, you’re also getting his replacement if he’s hooked off thanks to Paddy Power’s Super Sub promotion.
Kieran McKenna is lucky they had their cup tie well sewn up at the weekend so they could give their talisman a much-needed break.
Delap found the net in each of his previous two games, and with those coming away to Fulham and against Chelsea, he can take supreme confidence when coming up against lesser opposition.
Over 1.5 Ipswich cards
Ipswich are flashy but they’re also quite physical, particularly when they feel they need to get a result. They’ve picked up 53 bookings across their 20 league games – which is an average of 2.6 per game.
And while acts of aggression are a bad trend to follow, tactical fouls are a great indicator. They had three bookings in ten minutes against Fulham, trying to slow the game down, and you can expect something similar here.
A goal to be scored in both halves
In Ipswich’s last five games to feature two or more goals, they’ve all seen the net ripple either side of the whistle.
For Brighton? Ten of their last eleven in all competitions. These sides don’t have the capacity to see a result and let it lie, which benefits us who like to punt goals by half markets – this is a golden opportunity at the prices to cash in on a very likely trend repeating itself.
