Newcastle v Bromley – Both Teams to Score, No

Newcastle will still be high on confidence following their dismissal of Arsenal in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night. Toon manager Eddie Howe will no doubt rotate his starting XI here, but he’ll still, of course, want his side to continue their fine form.

Indeed, the hosts have won all seven of their most recent fixtures and kept five clean sheets in the process.

Bromley are in decent form; they’ve won three, drawn one, and lost one over their last five in League Two and, on their travels, have won four and lost one. However, the gulf in class against a team that are playing out of their skins of late means we just can’t see them getting on the scoresheet here.

Newcastle -2

Over those aforementioned eight matches, Newcastle have walloped Leicester 4-0, Ipswich 4-0, and Aston Villa 3-0. We’re going to see a few players brought into the starting XI who are going to want to give their manager a selection headache, and in front of a home crowd who are certainly enjoying what they’re seeing of late, Toon should be winning this one by at least three goals.

Ipswich v Bristol Rivers – Ipswich to win & both teams to score

Ipswich have bigger fish to fry when it comes to an FA Cup run. But, on the other hand, they’re showing signs of good form, so manager Kieran McKenna probably won’t tinker around with his side too much.

Going forward, Ipswich have plenty to boast about, but it’s at the back where they’ve let themselves down time and again this season. They’ve kept just two clean sheets over their 21 games this campaign and, over their last five at home, have conceded eight times.

League One’s Bristol Rover aren’t exactly in good shape, they’ve won just one of their last seven matches but scored five over their last five and with the host’s defensive problems it’s not hard the visitors scoring. Saying all that, the hosts have found their scoring boots of late and should have at least an extra goal in them.

Crystal Palace v Stockport – Both teams to score, yes

Crystal Palace have won just one of their last five fixtures in all competitions, while at home have won just one of their last six, drawing three and losing two. They’ve kept a grand total of three clean sheets all season and face a Stockport side who have bagged 11 goals over their last 10 on the road. The away side have also conceded nine of those 10, so there’s a decent price here for both teams to get their names on the scoresheet.

Stockport +1.5 goals

Granted, Stockpork are a League One side, but the Hatters have only lost by two goals or more in one of their 13 away games this season.

Palace, on the other hand, have only won a single game by two goals or more. Of all the games involving Premier League sides, this one seems like the one where we could see a scalp.

However, we wouldn’t necessarily back the away side because Oliver Glasner’s team have only lost four times at Selhurst Park this season. We’re likely looking at a 2-1 or 1-1 here, so we’ll take the away side in the goals handicap market.
