**Preston v Charlton has been postponed due to weather since this piece was published**

Saturday sees more FA Cup 3rd round action with a busy schedule of games filling the regular 3pm Premier League kick off spot.

Matthew O’Regan is back with his four best bets from Saturday’s long list of picks, with selections spread across the day, and the potential for a few shocks.

Norwich vs BrightonBrighton win and BTTS
Preston vs CharltonPreston Double Chance & Under 2.5 Goals

Reading vs Burnley – Reading Double Chance

Reading come into this game as heavy underdogs against promotion-chasing Burnley. Still, the Royals are full of confidence after a strong run of form under interim boss Noel Hunt. The Irishman has taken ten points from his last four games, winning both home games in this run.

When looking at Burnley’s position in the Championship, they are perhaps rightful favourites. However, delve deeper into their performances and Scott Parker’s side are a tad overpriced.

The 44-year-old has never made it past the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup or the fourth round of the FA Cup. His team were knocked out in their first game of the EFL Cup this season.

With the Clarets embroiled in a tight and gripping title battle in the Championship, Parker can be forgiven for rotating – as Chris Wilder did in Sheffield United’s defeat at home to Cardiff on Thursday night.

While Burnley have been strong in their pursuit of promotion back to the Premier League, they have not been all that convincing in many of their wins. With plenty of teams gunning for the title, Burnley may rotate and struggle against a Reading side, that has won nine of their 11 home games in a competitive League One.

Leyton Orient vs Derby – Leyton Orient to win

While you may be hard-pressed to find shocks when Accrington, Morecambe, Salford and Bromley travel to Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Newcastle respectively, Leyton Orient will fancy their chances of a mini cupset as they welcome Championship side Derby to Brisbane Road.

The O’s have won five on the bounce, and nine of their last ten games, as they make a charge for the League One playoffs. Richie Wellens has now been at Orient for three years and has got a tune out of a talented squad.

Derby were promoted back to the Championship last season, finishing second behind Portsmouth. With sides like Wrexham, Huddersfield and Birmingham in League One this year, it looks like a strong division, with not much to separate the top half and the bottom half of the Championship.

Derby have been strong at home but taken just seven points away, with their only win coming in a smash-and-grab at Coventry. Leyton Orient’s strong home form, coupled with The Rams’ pitiful away form, will give the East London faithful confidence.

Norwich vs Brighton – Brighton win and BTTS

Norwich host Brighton at Carrow Road in a match that’s sure to entertain the masses.

The hosts have scored in all bar one home game, with BTTS landing in 11 of 13 their games. Brighton have seen both teams score in eight of 10 away games, scoring in every single match on the road.

Only Leeds (48 goals) have scored more than Norwich’s 43, with the Canaries scoring a league-high 31 at Carrow Road. Both sides have strength in depth in attack, so expect rotation in the front lines, with fresh players chomping at the bit to impress.

The away side have many injuries to contend with, including a host of defensive issues, with just two fit centre-halves. But, Brighton should have too much quality for Norwich, expect both teams to get on the scoresheet in an exciting encounter.

Preston vs Charlton – Preston Double Chance & Under 2.5 Goals

Championship side Preston host League One Charlton at Deepdale. Paul Heckingbottom’s side are plodding away in the Championship, seven points from safety and ten from the playoffs.

North End’s games average just 2.21 goals, with 10 out of 14 games at Deepdale seeing under three. Charlton are the visitors to Lancashire on Saturday, with Nathan Jones renowned for his pragmatism.

The Addicks sit 11th in League One, with their games averaging just 2.09 goals. Of their 11 away games, seven have seen less than three scored and seven have seen them fail to win.
