Inter v AC Milan Tips: Monday night’s 13/1 Bet Builder for Super Cup Final

Our tipster's got five tips for Monday night's Saudi-hosted Milan derby.

Monday night sees Saudi Arabia hosting this year’s Italian Super Cup final.

It looks like it should be an entertaining affair, too, as we’re set for a Milan derby as Inter take on their oldest rival, AC Milan.

Football tipster Paddy Murphy has dived into the form of both sides to find five value picks for his Bet Builder, so let’s get his Inter v AC Milan betting tips.

Inter v AC Milan Bet Builder tips

Both teams to score: Yes
Inter to win
Lautaro Martinez anytime goalscorer
Christian Pulisic to have 1+ shots on target
Alvaro Morata to commit 1+ fouls

WHEN: Monday, 6th of January, 7:00pm
WHERE: The Kingdom Arena, Riyadh
TV: Premier Sports

Both teams to score: Yes

Both sides come into this game in great form. Inter have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions, while Milan have lost just one of their last nine.

Simeone Inzaghi’s side have been clinical in front of goal too, scoring a whopping 15 goals over their last five, while their oldest of enemies have bagged six over their last five.

With this being held in a neutral venue, it’s good to look at the away stats for both teams and there we see that Inter have scored 17, while Milan netted 10. We’ve also seen both teams scoring in their last three face-odds too, so we’re confident of it landing here again.

Inter to win

Going on those goal stats, we’ve got to go with the team billed as the home side here. We’ve also got to factor in the fact that Milan’s forwards haven’t exactly been dependable this season. Between them, Alvaro Morata and Rafael Leao have only scored seven goals in the league this season.

On the other side, Inter’s forward pairing of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez have hit the net 19 times. Elsewhere on the pitch, Inter just have more firepower in their ranks and their experience of appearing in more finals and winning more silverware of the last few seasons should see them over the line.

Lautaro Martinez anytime goalscorer

The aforementioned Marcus Thuram has to be taken off in the semi-final against Atalanta with an injury, but the latest reports suggest he should make an appearance here. He’s not likely to start, however and Inzaghi will likely keep him as a trump to be played if Inter are in need of a late goal.

His Argentine striker, Lautaro Martinez, has a pretty good record against the Rossoneri, scoring eight goals over 17 appearances against them. With him leading the line, he’ll certainly cause problems for Sergio Conceicao’s side and we’re getting some decent odds here for him to hit the back of the net.

Christian Pulisic to have 1+ shots on target

AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic began the season in great form, scoring five goals. He’s somewhat gone off the boil since, indeed, he’s not scored in the Serie A since October, however, the American did put away the penalty to draw level with Juventus in the semi-final on Friday night.

He’s been averaging just shy of two shots per game this season, and this is exactly the type of game where he’ll be expected to try to be a difference marker. Much has been made of Inter’s stingy defence this season.

They’ve become adept at shutting teams out, and Pulisic will surely be under the direction of taking some of his trademark long-distance shots on Monday night.

Alvaro Morata to commit 1+ fouls

Alvaro Morata has been an absolute nuisance at all of the clubs he’s played for, except Chelsea, but Chelsea has long been a team where many a striker has had to endure a barren spell.

His four Serie A goals over 13 appearances has simply not been good enough, but it’s his link-up play with other forwards that has continued to see him commanding large transfer fees.

Age has caught up with him a bit, however, and in dropping back more often to link up with wingers, he often finds himself scrapping with opposition midfielders. He’s averaged just shy of two fouls per game this season, but against an Inter side who like to control the midfield, we can see him getting stuck in here.
