For Friday night’s footall fixtures, we’re off to Ligue Un where Nice host Rennes, meanwhile Real Madrid travel to Valencia in La Liga, and later on Guimaraes host Sporting in the Primeira Liga. First up, though, is the Italian Super Cup semi-final, where Juventus are taking on AC Milan.
Football tipster Paddy Murphy has searched the markets for value bets and has six for a tasty-looking Multi-Match Bet Builder.
Also, two of Paddy’s picks are covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, meaning if a player is replaced, the pick carries over to his substitute.

Juventus v AC Milan
Italian Super Cup semi-final match at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh
TV: Premier Sports, 7pm
Under 2.5 goals
We don’t like starting on a downer, but there’s no getting around to the fact that this is the third season that Italy’s Super Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis will also host the event in 2028 and 2029. Where will it be held in 2026 and 2027? Well, nobody knows yet. The powers that be in Italian football love keeping people on their toes.
Anyway, let’s have a look at the actual match. Juventus have won three and drawn two over their last five, scoring a healthy 12 while conceding five, while Milan have won two, drawn two, and lost one, scoring five and conceding four.
All seven of their most recent meetings have failed to see more than three goals scored, and with this game being played at a neutral stadium where it’s very unlikely to be even half-full, we can’t see this one being etched into the annals of all-time great match-ups between this titans.
Nice v Rennes
Ligue Un match at the Allianz Riviera, Nice
TV: Ligue1 Pass, 8pm
Both teams to score, no
Rennes went into the winter break on the back of two wins, but they were against lowly Angers in the league, and they smashed a Bordeaux side 1-4 in the Cup. however, Bordeaux now play way down in the Championnat National, so we can’t really read too much into those results.
Rather, we have to look at their recent away form, which has seen them collect just one point over their last eight away games in the league and have failed to score in all three of their most recent. That’s a trend that we should see continuing.
Nice to win
As such, we have to back the hosts, and seeing their odds still above Evens at the time of writing means we’re getting plenty of value. Just a reminder here, Rennes have lost seven of their last eight on the road in the league. The hosts have won three and drawn two over their last five at home in Ligue Un, scoring nine goals, so they should have more than enough to take the three points on offer.
Valencia v Real Madrid
La Liga match at the Estadio de Mestalla, Valencia
TV: Premier Sports, LaLigaTV
Both teams to score, yes
Of their last 20 meetings at the Mestalla, Valencia have scored in 19 of those matches. Indeed, they have a good home record against Los Blanco, winning eight of those 20 games, and not many can boast of a record like that.
The away side have conceded in seven of their nine away league games this campaign, too, so you’d have to reckon they’ll also do the same here, especially since the hosts have scored eight over their last five home La Liga games. Will Carlo Ancelotti’s side score? They have done so in all but two away games this season, and they were both in the Champions League.
Real Madrid to win
While the hosts have been scoring plenty of late at home, they’ve only won two of their eight home games this term, while Real have won three, drawn one, and lost one of late on their Spanish excursions.
Valencia always put in a good showing against Madrid, but we have to note the Vini Junior factor here as he’ll be returning from his one-game suspension and scoring eight goals in 11 appearances against them.
It’s tempting to back him to score here, but Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham have also been among the goals on the road of late; between the three of them, they’ve scored eight goals over Real’s last five away games, and it’s hard not to see the away side coming away with the points.
Guimaraes v Sporting
Primeira Liga match at the Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques, Guimaraes
TV; TrillerTV, 8:15pm
Both teams to score, yes
Guimaraes have been in ripe goal-scoring form of late, banging in 10 goals over their last five league fixtures and nine over their last five on home soil.
Sporting are, of course, the favourites to take the three points here, and they should do, but they’ve dropped some points on the road lately, winning three, drawing one, and losing one over their last five on the road. They scored 11 over those five away Primeira Liga matches and conceded four, so with both teams enjoying some good goal stats, the best pick here is backing both to get on the scoresheet.
