Crystal Palace v Southampton – Crystal Palace to win
Despite Crystal Palace remaining winless in their last three in all competitions, their opponents Southampton are winless in their previous nine, following a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United.
The Eagles are in better league form than their south-coast counterparts, as the hosts have only lost once in their last five league games. Crystal Palace have picked up victories over Ipswich Town (0-1) and Brighton and Hove Albion (1-3) whilst also drawing 2-2 with Manchester City.
Southampton are winless away from home this season and have lost five of their last seven on their travels.
Blackburn Rovers v Hull City – Blackburn to win
Blackburn Rovers have been in good form over the last few weeks, as the hosts have won six of their previous seven league fixtures – with wins over Sheffield Wednesday (0-1), Middlesbrough (0-1) and Leeds United (1-0).
Hull City’s win over Swansea City two games prior was the Tigers’ only win in their previous 11 league games in which they have lost nine. During that run, the visitors had lost six consecutive games, and away from home, they have lost their previous five.
Stoke v Sunderland – Sunderland to win
Following their 2-0 defeat to league leaders Leeds United, Stoke City are now winless in their last nine – with five defeats in their previous six. During this run, the Potters have lost twice at home to Burnley (2-0) and Leeds United at the weekend.
On the other hand, Sunderland are now unbeaten in their previous five league games, following their 2-2 away at Blackburn Rovers. The Black Cats have only lost once in their previous five away games, with a 3-2 win against Swansea City to their name.
Watford v Cardiff City – Watford to win
Watford’s home record this season has been nothing short of exemplary, as the Hornets are unbeaten after 11 games at Vicarage Road, winning nine and drawing twice. During this run, Watford have recorded impressive victories over the likes of Sunderland (2-1), West Brom (2-1) & Blackburn Rovers (1-0).
Cardiff City are on a run of nine games without a win following their 3-2 defeat against fellow relegation candidates Oxford United. Five of Cardiff City’s seven losses this season have occurred away from home.
Bristol City v Portsmouth – Bristol City to win
Bristol City have won two of their last three home games in the Championship, drawing the remaining game. The hosts recorded victories over the likes of Luton Town (1-0) & Plymouth Argyle (4-0), who are only a point behind Portsmouth in the league table.
Portsmouth have only won once away from home all season, having lost three of their last away fixtures. The visitors have suffered defeats against Watford (2-1), Derby County (4-0), and Plymouth Argyle (1-0).
Birmingham v Blackpool – Birmingham to win
Birmingham have been exceptional in recent weeks, as the Blues head into this game with eight straight consecutive wins in League One, following their 2-0 win against Blackpool. The home form for the Blues has been pivotal to their league position, with the hosts unbeaten after ten home games, with eight wins and two draws.
Following their 2-1 defeat away at Wrexham, Blackpool are now winless in their previous three and have lost five of their last eight games away from Bloomfield Road.
Leyton Orient v Cambridge United – Leyton Orient to win
Leyton Orient are unbeaten in their previous seven, following their impressive 3-0 win against Crawley Town on Boxing Day. During this unbeaten run, the hosts have also beaten the likes of Barnsley (0-4) and Wigan Athletic. Richie Wellens has also guided his side to three wins in their last four home games in all competitions.
Cambridge United are winless in their previous four in all competitions, following their 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day. The visitors possess the worst away record in the league, with one win from 11 away fixtures, having only gained five points from 33 available on their travels.
Wrexham vs Wigan – Wrexham to win
Following Wrexham’s 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day, the hosts are now unbeaten in their last nine in all competitions – with five wins from their previous eight games in League One. The home side possesses the best home record in the division, with 10 wins from 12 and having only conceded seven goals in total at the Racehorse Ground.
