Football Accumulator Tips: Our 20/1 shot for Sunday’s 2pm Premier League kick offs

Our tipster Andrew Beasley takes a stern look at the 2pm Prem action.

Because football scheduling is a mystery, this weekend, we have more Premier League matches at 2pm on Sunday than at 3pm on Saturday.

Not that it matters. Everyone will be waiting for Tottenham against Liverpool at 4:30pm on Sunday to see how badly the VAR messes things up there this year. Happy Christmas, boys. Good process.

But if you fancy a flutter on the earlier games, here’s a selection for all four, which you can combine into a multi-match bet builder.

PP tipster Andrew Beasley has a selection for all four matches, which you can combine into an accumulator.

Premier League Acca tips

Everton v Chelsea – Noni Madueke to score
Fulham v Southampton – Fulham -1
Leicester v Wolves – Over 2.5 goals
Man United v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win or draw

Everton v Chelsea – Noni Madueke to score

Our first stop is at Goodison Park for a Battle of the Blues. It’s a tussle frequently taken by Everton, who have won five of their last six home games against Chelsea.

Only Crystal Palace have been beaten on the blue half of Merseyside as often since the summer of 2018. Oh, and Everton too, of course.

As the form team in the Premier League, Chelsea are understandably expected to win. Three points will take them top of the table, too, at least until Tottenham implode against Liverpool.

All eyes will be on Cole Palmer, but there’s better value to be had with Noni Madueke. He’s been in the thick of the action recently, with seven shots in each of his last two league starts.

Across his previous four appearances, he’s mustered five big chances and put seven shots on target. Back Madueke to score at any time.

Fulham v Southampton – Fulham -1

We’re off to Craven Cottage for the televised match next. Southampton sacked Russell Martin last weekend as they couldn’t face the humiliation after going 4-0 down to Spurs inside 26 minutes. Amazingly, Martin wasn’t fired at halftime, to be honest.

Whoever takes over permanently (after Simon Rusk, who is in temporary charge) faces what looks like an impossible task, especially on the road where the Saints have just one point from eight games. Given that they lost 2-0 at second-bottom Wolves last month, it’s hard to see how Southampton will get anything at Fulham.

Granted, Gary O’Neil’s last win as Wolves’ boss was at the Cottage. But since that loss, Marco Silva’s side have beaten Brighton 3-1 at home and drew with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. Fulham are on a roll, so they should be able to overcome the -1 handicap to beat Southampton by at least two goals.

Leicester v Wolves – Over 2.5 goals

Speaking of Wolves, they travel to Leicester in our third match. If Ipswich beat Newcastle on Saturday, both sides will be in the relegation zone when this game begins.

Assuming we’re writing off Southampton’s hopes of staying up, this clash is rather bloody significant. While Leicester’s form has picked up a little under Ruud van Nistelrooy, they conceded 31 shots when beating West Ham 3-1 and somehow recovered to draw against Brighton when they were 2-0 down in the 85th minute.

As they lost 4-0 at Newcastle, the only sensible strategy here is to back a high-scoring match rather than trying to predict the result.

Only three of Wolves’ league games have seen fewer than three goals, the joint-fewest in the division. Leicester are one of three teams with only one more such match in their log book, so our selection is over 2.5 goals at the King Power.

Man United v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win or draw

We finish at Old Trafford. It’s hard to know what will happen here too.

Ruben Amorim has overseen three Manchester United matches there – a 4-0 thumping of Everton, but also a narrow win over Bodo/Glimt in which the Norwegians led a minute before halftime and a 3-2 defeat by Nottingham Forest last time out.

Bournemouth will be a formidable opponent, as they proved when winning 3-0 at United last season. They are the stat nerds’ xG darling for 2024/25, with the underlying numbers suggesting they have been the second-best team in the Premier League.

The Cherries also had a free midweek, unlike their hosts, who were in Carabao Cup action at Tottenham on Thursday night. Andoni Iraola’s hard-running side will also give United a far greater physical test than the ghosts of Manchester City past did last weekend.

It is surprising the home side are odds-on favourites to win in light of that. A Double Chance selection of ‘Bournemouth And Draw’ round offs our Bet Builder perfectly.
