Premier League Acca tips

West Ham v Brighton – Joel Veltman to be fouled 2+ times
Ipswich v Newcastle – Newcastle to win & both teams to score
Brentford v Nottingham Forest – Yoane Wissa to score

West Ham v Brighton – Joel Veltman to be fouled 2+ times

Julen Lopetegui’s team has gotten four points from their past two games, perhaps giving the manager some breathing room, but the visit to Brighton will be a tough ask.

The away side have an array of exciting talents, so it might be a shock that we’re backing Joel Veltman to be fouled two or more times. However, the Dutchman is an integral part of the team, helping to progress the ball up the field.

We often see Veltman getting up the field, and it shouldn’t be a shock to learn that he gets fouled 2.5 times per game on average. That’s more than anyone else on the team, including nearest competition Joao Pedro, who gets fouled 1.8 times per game. We’ve also seen Veltman get fouled two or more times in five of five away games in the league this season.

Ipswich v Newcastle – Newcastle to win & both teams to score

Only six spots separate Ipswich and Newcastle as we enter this weekend of Premier League action, but there’s a gulf of class between the teams, as well as the 11 points.

Newcastle got back to winning ways with a 4-0 demolition of Leicester City last weekend, while Ipswich got only their second win with a win over Wolves.

Newcastle have the talent to win this, with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon set to terrify Ipswich. However, the hosts are without Liam Delap and Axel Tuanzebe.

Newcastle should win this but they’re likely to concede, having allowed at least one goal in all but one away game in the Premier League this season, a victory over a poor Everton team.

Brentford v Nottingham Forest – Yoane Wissa to score

Nottingham Forest started the season with some incredible defensive performances, but they’ve now allowed the opposition to score in five of their past six games. More concerning is that they’ve given up 12 goals in that time, conceding three goals in 50% of the games.

That bodes well for Brentford frontman Yoane Wissa. The 28-year-old has nine goals in 13 Premier League games so far this season but crucially has a goal in each of his past six home starts in the Premier League.

He loves playing at the Gtech Community Stadium and should feast against a Nottingham Forest team that has given up goals for fun recently.
