Man City v Man United Tips: Andy Robson’s 9/1 Bet Builder for Sunday’s derby clash

Andy Robson fancies a feisty Manchester derby on Sunday!

Sunday’s Premier League showdown comes via a Mancunian derby, as Pep Guardiola hosts Ruben Amorim for the first time since his Old Trafford arrival.

Manchester City’s wobbles continued in midweek – as they lost 2-0 away at Juventus – with Guardiola now winning just one of his last 10 games across all competitions and Amorim has won one in four in the Premier League.

Top social media tipster Andy Robson dives into the market in search of some derby value picks, and he’s got a brilliant Bet Builder for us. So, let’s get his Man City v Man United betting tips.

Man City v Man United Bet Builder tips

Man United (+1.5)
Both teams to score: Yes
Bruno Fernandes to have 1+ shots on target
Rasmus Hojlund to have 1+ shots on target
Man City over 2.5 cards

WHEN: Sunday, 15th December, 4:30pm
WHERE: Etihad Stadium, Manchester
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Premier League

Man United (+1.5)

Man City are hot favourites to win this match, yet their recent record suggests United should be given some more respect. After all, Guardiola’s men have picked up just one victory in their last 10 games, which is little justification for their short price. Amorim has had a mixed start at Old Trafford, but even in their worst struggles under Erik ten Hag earlier this season, United are not a team that’s accustomed to losing games heavily. Indeed, they have suffered a multiple-goal defeat only once in their last 14 matches. The value certainly leans towards the guests in this encounter.

Man Utd +1.5 Goals Home Team Minus 1.5 Goals

Both teams to score: Yes

The Manchester derby has typically been a fixture that’s seen plenty of goals in recent years, and given the defensive struggles of both clubs, that’s unlikely to change on Sunday. Incredibly, City have only once in their last 10 games restricted their opponents to under two goals, while United have conceded in five of the six games Amorim has overseen. Under the Portuguese coach, four of the six games the Red Devils have played ended with goals at both ends. With seven of the last eight head-to-heads between these two seeing both teams scoring, expect this game to continue this trend.

9/20
Yes Both Teams To Score

Bruno Fernandes to have 1+ shots on target

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has a strong record in recent derby matches. He’s faced City on four occasions since the beginning of last season and in these encounters he’s mustered shots on target in three of those games. He’s been surprisingly quiet in terms of shots on target for Man United this season, but this has largely been brought about due to a lack of accuracy. No Red Devil has attempted as many as his 40 shots in the Premier League. There have been signs over the course of the last couple of games that he’s starting to get it right in this regard. He’s hit the target three times across his previous two outings.

4/6
Bruno Fernandes Player To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target

Rasmus Hojlund to have 1+ shots on target

With five goals in his last four Man United appearances, there is surely little doubt Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for the Red Devils at the Etihad Stadium, with the in-form attacker coming to life under Amorim. The Portuguese boss has shown his ability to get the best out of a centre-forward, with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and he’s getting similarly high levels of production already from the Dane. Hojlund has 1.85 shots on target per 90 this season under the new coach, and already has as many shots on target in the Amorim era as he managed in the 12 games previous. He looks strong value to continue his form against an out-of-sorts City defence.

4/6
Rasmus Hojlund Player To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target

Man City over 2.5 cards

Man City picked up just two cards last season across the three games they played against United, but there’s been a recent trend from Guardiola’s side to earn more cards. Across their last eight fixtures, they have seen three or more cards on five occasions. There has been a general trend for their discipline to get worse the longer their poor run goes on, and that is likely to be magnified in a derby encounter. Anthony Taylor is the referee for this clash, with the official giving 4.61 cards per game this season.
