Jonathan David to score anytime
Canada international Jonathan David has been on fire for Lille in the Champions League so far this season despite major rumours over his plans for a summer exit.
With his contract up at the end of the campaign, David looks set to move on, but he is determined to go out with a bang. He already has six Champions League goals for Lille this season, with four in four games in the league phase, including winners against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
His overall record, across league and European action stands at five goals in his last six games, ahead of the trip to Bologna.
Under 2.5 goals
Despite David’s goalscoring exploits, Lille have played out tight games in the Champions League so far, with three of their four league phase matches featuring under 2.5 goals scored in total.
That has yielded seven points for the Ligue 1 side, but David’s goals and a tight defence are key, up against a Bologna team who have seen under 2.5 goals in all four of their games in a debut Champions League campaign.
8:00pm: Monaco v Benfica
TV: TNT Sports 6
Both teams to score: Yes
In contrast to their fellow Frenchmen, Monaco’s Champions League games have been a little freer with goals, and they are unbeaten in four games.
With 10 points on the board, they are in a strong position to automatically reach the knockout stages in 2025, but scoring and conceding goals seem to be the way forward.
Three of their four UCL games have seen both teams score with visitors Benfica netting in three of their four European outings so far in 2024/25.
8:00pm: PSV v Shakhtar Donetsk
TV: TNT Sports 9
PSV to win
PSV hosting Shakhtar Donetsk is a clash between two sides struggling to make an impact in the league phase so far. The home side have a marginal edge on five points compared to Shakhtar’s four.
Home advantage could be the key here, with PSV picking up a win and a draw in their two home UCL games, and Shakhtar amassing just one point from their two away (non-neutral) games with no goals scored.
