Tottenham v Arsenal women Tips: Gunners to dominate in 13/1 WSL Bet Builder

The north London derby takes centre stage in the WSL on Saturday afternoon.

A marquee weekend for women’s football sees both the North London and Merseyside derbies not to mention a top of the table clash as league leaders Manchester City travel to Kingsmeadow to take on the champions Chelsea, all at the clubs’ full stadiums.

For this week’s WSL betting tips we’ll be focusing our attention to north London as Arsenal look to continue their revival under interim manager Renee Slegers as they go to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face their struggling arch-rivals. Our tipster Peter Sharland is on hand to deliver his Tottenham v Arsenal betting fancies.

WHERE: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Arsenal – 1

It certainly seems fair for all Arsenal fans to feel a lot more comfortable about Renee Slegers after the past two matches. A nervy few games to begin her time as interim manager had supporters hoping a permanent successor to Jonas Eidevall would come quickly. However now Arsenal have now swept past WSL surprise-package Brighton and Serie A Femminile leaders Juventus by an aggregate scoreline of 9-0, Slegers staying on a little longer is no bad thing.

Now the Gunners will face a Tottenham team that really hasn’t gotten going after the high of last season’s FA Cup final as they’ve had to cope with losing star loanee Grace Clinton over the summer. Robert Vilahamn’s side have conceded a league-high 18 goals and, in a worrying trend for this game, in their three other games against top-five sides (Chelsea, Manchesters City and United) they’ve conceded 12.

Both Teams To Score

However despite drawing blanks against both City and United Spurs are still a threat going forward. They scored two against the champions and have 12 for the season, the same as Arsenal and the third-highest in the league.

No Spurs player has scored more than two goals this season but nine different players have found the net so for that reason we can’t comfortably commit on an Anytime Goalscorer. Given the pace of the derby will be different to the game against Brighton and the fact that we still don’t fully trust this Arsenal backline Spurs getting at least one seems a good bet.

Frida Maanum and Caitlin Foord both to score anytime

Frida Maanum’s performances under Slegers have fans dreaming of her incredible 2022-23 season which sadly we did not see at all last year for a variety of reasons. The Norwegian scored against both Brighton and Juventus and clearly has been given the kind of attacking freedom that she has historically thrived upon, using her goalscoring instincts to great effect to give Arsenal a different kind of threat.

Meanwhile Foord has arguably been the Gunners’ best player this season, regularly terrorising right-backs both at home and in Europe. The Australian is Arsenal’s top scorer with eight this season and has locked down the left-wing spot under Slegers with her performances thus far. With Alessia Russo still not in top form it’s been massive for Arsenal that other players are picking up the goalscoring slack and both these players will be fancying their chances to get on the scoresheet yet again this weekend.
