Football Accumulator Tips: Friday’s 18/1 Nations League Punt

Our football tipster Sam Farley has Spain, Northern Ireland winning and Ronaldo bagging against Poland.

International Football Accumulator - October 14

Friday night’s Nations League fixtures have some real humdingers among them. Spain are away to Denmark, Portugal are hosting Poland and Scotland take on Croatia in Glasgow.

Our football tipster, Sam Farley is here and has piled through the stats and form to find six picks for us for a rather ripe-looking acca.

Let’s get into it.

Friday’s Nations League tips

*All games kickoff at 7:45pm

Denmark v Spain – Spain to win
Luxembourg v Bulgaria – Under 2.5 goals
Northern Ireland v Belarus – Northern Ireland to win
Portugal v Poland – Cristiano Ronaldo to score
Romania v Kosovo – Romania to win
Scotland v Croatia – Both teams to score, yes

Denmark v Spain – Spain to win

Nations League match at Parken, Copenhagen
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm

The Spanish know they can seal top spot in League A Group 4 with a win here. Denmark have performed well in second place but Spain are far better than the other teams in the group. They’re averaging two goals scored per game and have conceded a single goal across four matches. They beat Denmark in the reverse fixture and should again.

Luxembourg v Bulgaria – Under 2.5 goals

Nations League match at Stade de Luxembourg, Luxembourg
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm

This isn’t looking like a game for the neutrals, with neither Bulgaria nor Luxembourg setting the world alight of late. They’ve both scored a single solitary goal in their campaigns so far, with Bulgaria keeping three cleans, one of which was a turgid 0-0 when these teams met last month. All of Luxembourg’s games have gone Under 2.5 goals, and three of Bulgaria’s four.

Northern Ireland v Belarus – Northern Ireland to win

Nations League match at Windsor Park, Belfast
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm

League C Group 3 is incredibly close with just two points separating the top three teams. Northern Ireland currently have top spot and are one point ahead of Friday’s visitors Belarus.

Michael O’Neill’s team have won both of their home games, including a 5-0 thrashing of Bulgaria last month. They managed a 0-0 draw with Belarus in that window too and should get the better of them on home soil.

Portugal v Poland – Cristiano Ronaldo to score

Nations League match at Estádio Do Dragão, Porto
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm

Say what you like about Cristiano Ronaldo, but he loves playing for his country almost as much as he loves scoring goals. He’s scored 55 goals in 56 games since moving to Saudi Arabia, and while the quality isn’t great, he’s still racking up goals. He’s got 133 in 216 games for Portugal, including three in this Nations League campaign.

Romania v Kosovo – Romania to win

Nations League match at the Arena Naţională, Bucharest
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm

It’s a top-of-the-table clash in League C Group 2, with Romania leading Kosovo by three points. A win here would secure Romania’s top spot. They’re unbeaten so far, scoring 11 goals in four games and allowing just two. They beat Kosovo 3-0 on the road in September and should get the job done again here.

Scotland v Croatia – Both teams to score, yes

Nations League match at Hampden Park, Glasgow
TV: Viaplay on YouTube, 7:45pm, 7:45pm

Scotland are yet to win a game in this Nations League campaign and they know Croatia could seal qualification depending on the result in Portugal v Poland. That makes things tough for them but they can take heart in their 2-1 defeat away in Croatia last month. Both Teams to Score has landed in three of their four games and also three of Crotia’s four games.
