Ireland host Finland on Thursday night with Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side looking to win their second Nations League game of the campaign.
Ireland beat Finland 2-1 last month with Robbie Brady netting an 88th minute winner in Helsinki and I fancy them to pull off another victory.
I thought they showed enough signs of improvement in the 2-0 defeat against England. The Three Lions were comfortable in the first half but Ireland impressed after half time.
Hallgrimsson’s style of football marries up to the Ireland philosophy and personality. I’ve always felt that the players are pulling in the right direction and they want to perform for the fans.
I’m backing Ireland to win as they look to keep a bit of momentum going. It sets up a fantastic game against England at Wembley on Sunday to finish the group stages.
