Slovan Bratislava v Dinamo Zagreb

WHEN: Tuesday, 5th of November, 5:45pm
WHERE: Tehelné Pole, Bratislava
TV: TNT Sports

Over 2.5 goals

It has been a Champions League campaign to forget for Slovan Bratislava so far.

The six in a row Slovakian league champions currently sit rock bottom of the 36-team Champions League table with zero points to their name and a negative 10 goal difference.

They opened their European campaign with back-to-back four-goal defeats against Celtic and Manchester City before losing 2-0 in Girona last time out, only avoiding a heavier defeat when Girona’s Cristhian Stuani missed a late penalty.

Dinamo Zagreb, on the other hand, have recovered admirably from an opening 9-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich, beating Salzburg away from home and claiming a very credible 2-2 draw against high-flying Monaco.

Dinamo Zagreb have scored two goals in each of their three Champions League games to date and it would be very surprising if they did not at least match that record on Tuesday night.

Between them, the two sides have conceded 22 goals in the Champions League so far. It is hard to see anything other than a high-scoring encounter.

Real Madrid v AC Milan

WHEN: Tuesday, 5th of November, 8pm
WHERE: Bernabeu, Madrid
TV: TNT Sports

Both teams to score – yes

Neither AC Milan nor Real Madrid have managed a clean sheet in Europe this season after three games apiece.

Madrid have hardly been convincing in their defence of the Champions League so far, falling to defeat in Lille and stuttering to unconvincing home wins against Stuttgart and Dortmund, coming from two goals down against the latter after a shocking first-half display.

Milan, on the other hand, opened their campaign with back-to-back losses against Liverpool and Leverkusen before stuttering to an unconvincing win of their own against Club Brugge.

Madrid have only played once since that win over Dortmund – a 4-0 loss against Barcelona – and have been left to stew on that result for 10 days.

Milan have played more recently, beating Monza 1-0 on Saturday, but they did lose 2-0 at home to Napoli a week prior.

Neither side instils any confidence that they can keep a clean sheet on Tuesday night, so the smart money seems to be on both teams finding the back of the net.

Lille v Juventus

WHEN: Tuesday, 5th of November, 8pm
WHERE: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille
TV: TNT Sports

Over 2.5 goals

Lille have enjoyed a phenomenal Champions League campaign to date, recording wins over both Madrid clubs to give themselves a huge chance of making at least the play-off rounds of the knockout stages.

Domestically, they have made a moderately successful start to the season, taking 18 points from their opening ten games and scoring 16 goals.

Juventus, meanwhile, have also started the relatively season well, going undefeated in their opening 11 league games and winning their first two Champions League outings before losing at home to Stuttgart.

Both sides are capable of scoring and conceding a large number of goals, with Juventus recently drawing 4-4 with Inter Milan and Lille drawing 3-3 with Strasbourg earlier in the campaign.

Juventus have scored six and conceded four in their three Champions League games so far, notably coming from behind in Leipzig to win a 3-2 thriller.

Lille, on the other hand, have only scored four and conceded three in Europe this season but did just win 3-1 at Atletico Madrid in their most recent outing.

There is a good chance of a relatively high-scoring affair on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund v Sturm Graz

WHEN: Tuesday, 5th of November, 8pm
WHERE: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund
TV: TNT Sports

Dortmund to win & both teams to score – yes

Dortmund, under Nuri Sahin, are a bit of a mess. But a very entertaining one.

No team has been involved in more goals this Champions League season than Dortmund, who have scored 12 and conceded six in their opening three games.

In the Bundesliga, they have scored 17 and conceded 15 in their opening nine games for a combined total of 32 goals (or almost four goals per game).

They are without a clean sheet in nine games and had lost three games in a row prior to Saturday’s 2-1 win over Leipzig.

They should have little trouble making it two wins in a row on Tuesday against a Sturm Graz outfit that has lost three out of three against Club Brugge, Sporting Lisbon and Brest, three of the weaker opponents they will face in the competition.

However, Dortmund are so porous at the back that they may just give their Austrian opponents something to cheer.

Bologna v Monaco

WHEN: Tuesday, 5th of November, 8pm
WHERE: Renato Dall’Ara, Bologna
TV: TNT Sports

Over 2.5 goals

Bologna were always going to struggle to reach the heights that saw them reach the Champions League last season, but to have not scored in any of their European games to date is fairly disappointing.

The Italian side has taken one point from three games against Liverpool, Aston Villa and Shakhtar Donetsk and now faces a Monaco side that taken seven points in their opening three games.

The good news for Bologna is that they have a good chance of breaking their goal duck.

Monaco have conceded in each of their European games this season, including against the unfancied duo of Dinamo Zagreb and Crvena Zvevda.

There is almost no chance that Monaco, who have scored nine in three games, will fail to score at the other end, paving the way for a high-scoring affair.
