Premier League Predictions: Lawro sees Man United win but Everton and Villa to lose

The Soccer Soothsayer's predictions are locked and loaded.

Mark Lawrenson's Premier League betting predictions

The 2024/25 Premier League season is in full swing and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson is back to gaze into his crystal ball every single matchday.

The Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and crunched the numbers to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Let’s see what the future holds…

Saturday 12.30pm: Newcastle v Arsenal

TV: TNT Sport 1 and TNT Sport Ultimate

Newcastle were decent going forward against Chelsea but defensively they looked all over the place. We’re not quite sure who’s going to be fit for Arsenal but I fancy them to have the nous. Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal.

Saturday 3pm: Bournemouth v Man City

Manchester City are not at their best but they’re still winning every game aren’t they? Bournemouth had a good result at Villa. I think City will win this but Bournemouth is a tricky place to go even though they only get 12,000 in there. Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester City.

Saturday 3pm: Ipswich v Leicester

That last Ipswich game was just mad, it was so open and it was fab to watch, but Leicester lost last time out too. This is a big old game down the bottom. I’ll go for a badly needed home win. Ipswich 2-1 Leicester.

Saturday 3pm: Liverpool v Brighton

Liverpool beat Brighton in the week but both sides changed their teams around. Everyone’s happy at Liverpool, even the ones who aren’t starting, because they’re getting minutes on the pitch. Brighton are a good side but they’re a little bit porous and if you go to Anfield and play with a high line then good luck! Liverpool 3-1 Brighton.

Saturday 3pm: Nott’m Forest v West Ham

That penalty that West Ham got to beat Manchester United was absolutely, totally, ridiculous but they got the win. Forest had that good win against Leicester and Chris Wood can’t stop scoring. I can see these two cancelling each other out as West Ham have turned the corner a little bit. Nottingham Forest 1-1 West Ham.

Saturday 3pm: Southampton v Everton

Russell Martin’s team did really well at City and they could have nicked a draw. This is a game that Southampton have to win. As long as you can cope with the directness of Everton you can be okay. They don’t make too many chances away from home so I’ll just go with a Southampton win. Southampton 2-1 Everton.

Saturday 5.30pm: Wolves v Crystal Palace

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

This is a game that both will think they can win and both sides had good results at the weekend. As both think they can win I’ll go with the draw. Wolves 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Sunday 2pm: Tottenham v Aston Villa

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

For all their faults Tottenham are good at home. Less so away from home but I’ll go with Spurs to win this. I just wonder with Villa if they might be about to go into a bit of a poor run with all the games catching up with them. Tottenham 2-1 Aston Villa.

Sunday 4.30pm: Man Utd v Chelsea

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I think Ruud’s reds are going to win. I don’t think Ruben Amorim will be in place by the time this game kicks off but Old Trafford will be bouncing for this game. Chelsea are a little bit weak defensively, I’m not convinced. Newcastle had a few opportunities to get a point out of the league game last weekend. For United it will just be, ‘Off you go boys, go and enjoy yourselves’ and I think they will. Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea.

Monday 8pm: Fulham v Brentford

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Fulham should have beaten Everton last weekend, they had enough opportunities to see them off. Brentford’s game at Leicester was just mad. This might be a little more controlled and I fancy Fulham to take the spoils. Fulham 2-1 Brentford.
