Chelsea to win

The Red Devils are sitting 14th in the Premier League with good reason, and even with Ruben Amorim ready to join the club in just over a week’s time, they will do well to seriously test a Chelsea side in excellent form.

The Blues have enjoyed a much-improved start to the Premier League season under Enzo Maresca, sitting fifth with five wins to their credit.

Even in losing 2-1 away to Liverpool a fortnight ago, they won credit for the manner in which they went toe-to-toe with the league leaders, and they look a big price to win at Man Utd given they have picked up three away wins in four top-flight road trips.

Nicolas Jackson to have 1+ shots on target

Chelsea centre-forward Nicolas Jackson is a wild price to muster just a single shot on target in this match.

After all, the Senegal international has managed to do this in every one of the 10 club matches this season, while he sits joint fifth in terms of Premier League top scorers so far this term.

The 23-year-old has 1.56 shots on target per 90 in England’s top-flight this season. Against a Manchester United side that has kept only one clean sheet in its last six matches at Old Trafford – which was against the mighty Burnley – the former Villarreal hitman will expect to test Andre Onana at least once.

Over 2.5 goals

One thing this game is not expected to lack is goalmouth action, with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first match as Man United interim boss ending in fireworks as the Red Devils beat Leicester 5-2 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Even during Erik ten Hag’s time, there was little shortage of goals. Each of United’s last four games has seen both teams scoring, while five of their last seven have seen at least three goals being scored.

Chelsea, meanwhile, has benefitted from prolific scoring power lately. In their last nine matches, they have scored at least two goals on six occasions, and seven of these fixtures have also seen a minimum of three goals.

At least three goals have been scored in each of the last three meetings between these clubs, with Chelsea winning 4-3 in April.

Cole Palmer to be fouled 2+ times

Having drawn 21 fouls in the Premier League this season, only three players boast a larger figure than Cole Palmer in this regard.

The former Manchester City youngster has been on the receiving end of 2.44 fouls per 90 in England’s top-flight, which is comfortably the largest figure among Chelsea’s regular starters.

He has picked up these fouls on a regular basis since the September international break. Indeed, he has been fouled at least three times in four of his last six Premier League matches.

With Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte likely to be up against him in this match, don’t expect the England man to get an easy time of it.

Alejandro Garnacho to have 3+ Shots

Since breaking into the Manchester United starting XI in September, Garnacho has looked like a player determined to remain in the first team.

The Argentine will also feel himself one of the favourites to occupy the inside forward roles under the incoming Amorim, and he will want to prove himself worthy of that position with a big performance here.

Garnacho has had at least three shots in eight of the last nine games he has played at least 45 minutes in. He only missed eight minutes of ten Hag’s last six Premier League games, and under van Nistelrooy, he is likely to be just as central.
